CHLOE Sutton was one of the few swimmers at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials who could afford to swim through the meet without being fully rested. She had made the Olympic team in the inaugural 10K open water swim, and needed to continue to train for that race.<\/p>\n<p>In a SwimmingWorld.TV interview that appears on page 23 of the August digital issue of <i>Swimming World Magazine<\/i>, Sutton and coach Bill Rose talk about the Beijing test event and how Sutton was able to win and secure her place on the Olympic roster. After not making the world championship team in the 10K, Sutton &quot;became a much stronger person. I was able to go out there and do what I needed to do.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Coach Rose, who is on the Olympic coaching staff, said the preparation for the open water event in Beijing will include mostly pool swimming, as Sutton will be with the pool swim team until about four days before the competition, when the racing venue will be opened to competitors.<\/p>\n<p>August is a special month for our readers as well, since <i>Swimming World<\/i> presents a FREE download of its Digital Olympic Preview issue.
