The University of St. Thomas swept the women’s and men’s Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships highlighted by wins in the 400 free relays. On the women’s side, the team of Alex Howard<\/strong> (54.21) Emma Paulson<\/strong> (49.09) Kate Smarjesse<\/strong> (52.57) and Katelyn Strauss<\/strong> (52.15) won in a time of 3:28.02 just out touching Gustavus who was second in 3:28.47. St. Olaf was third in 3:31.49. On the men’s side, St. Thomas’s team of Luke Schneeman<\/strong> (46.76) Bailey Biwer<\/strong> (46.41) Warren Melton<\/strong> (46.41) and Michael Lanz<\/strong> (44.92) won in a time of 3:03.76. Carleton was second in 3:04.09, while St. John’s was third in 3:06.64.<\/p>\n

In the 1650, Linnea Rizzo<\/strong> of Gustavus won the event in 17:43.27, out touching teammate Sydney Hallmark<\/strong> who was second in 17:46.36. Ann Herkenhoff<\/strong> of the Cobbers was third in 17:47.98.<\/p>\n

On the men’s side, Warren Melton<\/strong> of St. Thomas definitevely won the event in a time of 16:04.38. Bobby Schhultze<\/strong> of St. Olaf was second in 16:12.31, while Hodd Gorman<\/strong> of Hamline of was third in 16:18.51.<\/p>\n

In the 200 back, Emma Paulson<\/strong> of St. Thomas won, cracking the 2-minute barrier in a time of 1:59.72. Maria Wetzel<\/strong> of Carleton was second in 2:02.87, while Hayley Booher<\/strong> of Gustavus was third in 2:03.85.<\/p>\n

On the men’s side, Tom Osmolak<\/strong> of St. Thomas was first in 1:48.22. Schwarzkopf was second in 1:51.61 while Brady Anderson<\/strong> of St. Thomas was third in 1:53.01.<\/p>\n

In the 100 free, Kathleen Reilly<\/strong> of Gustavus was first in 51.49, out touching Maddie Lee<\/strong> of St. Olaf who was 52.00. Caroline Mather<\/strong> of Carleton was third in 52.35.<\/p>\n

Kenny Bergman<\/strong> of St. Johns’s won the men’s 100 free by one-hundredth of a second, out touching teammate Paul Knaak<\/strong>. Bergman posted a 46.06 to Knaak’s 46.07, while Stephen Grinich<\/strong> of Carleton was third in 46.09.<\/p>\n

In the 200 breast, St. Thomas lead the top three, with Nicole Herrli<\/strong> leading the way, winning in a time of 2:22.34. Melissa Rose<\/strong> followed in 2:26.26, while Kate Washenberger<\/strong> was third in 2:26.73.<\/p>\n

Tanner Soonek<\/strong> of Gustavus won a close race in the 200 breast, out touching Nicholas Wilkerson<\/strong> of St. Olaf. Soonek was 2:04.06, while Wilkerson was second in 2:04.28. Maxwell Hamilton<\/strong> of St. Thomas was third in 2:05.59.<\/p>\n

Katelyn Strauss<\/strong> of St. Thomas won the women’s 200 fly by over 7 seconds, in a time of 2:06.78. Alison Ellingson<\/strong> of St. Catherine was second in 2:13.94, while Halie Langanki<\/strong> of Carleton was third in 2:14.30.<\/p>\n

Michael Lanz<\/strong> of St. Thomas lead his team’s sweep of the 200 fly in 1:50.76 with teammate Chris Tri\u00a0<\/strong>taking second\u00a01:53.36, and Brady Anderson<\/strong> was third in 1:55.17.<\/p>\n
