{"id":186512,"date":"2016-02-20T20:31:31","date_gmt":"2016-02-21T03:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=186512"},"modified":"2018-04-18T08:31:12","modified_gmt":"2018-04-18T15:31:12","slug":"robinson-secondary-sweeps-virginia-6a-state-high-school-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/robinson-secondary-sweeps-virginia-6a-state-high-school-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Robinson Secondary Sweeps Virginia 6A State High School Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Robinson Secondary won both the girls and boys meets at the 2016 Virginia 6A State High School Championships.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Girls<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Robinson Secondary took home the 6A crown with 212 points. \u00a0Oakton took second with 171 points. \u00a0McLean (169), West Potomac (163) and Langley (152) rounded out the top five.<\/p>\n<p>West Potomac&#8217;s <strong>Cassidy Bayer<\/strong> cranked out a 1:59.59 to win the 200-yard IM. \u00a0That missed her state record of 1:59.19 from last year. \u00a0Bayer doubled up with a 53.30 in the 100-yard fly.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson&#8217;s <strong>Hannah Baker<\/strong> claimed the 50-yard free title in 23.41. Baker captured her second title with a 50.56 in the 100-yard free.<\/p>\n<p>Oakton&#8217;s <strong>Megan Byrnes<\/strong> won the 200-yard free in a time of 1:49.13, off her 6A record of 1:48.61 from last year. Byrnes won her second title of the meet with a 4:46.81 in the 500-yard free.<\/p>\n<p>Westfield&#8217;s <strong>Chloe Hicks<\/strong> won the 100-yard back in 55.32.<\/p>\n<p>Chantilly&#8217;s <strong>Jacquee Clabeaux<\/strong> cranked out a 6A record in the 100-yard breast with a 1:01.51. \u00a0That swim beat her prelim record of 1:02.42.<\/p>\n<p>West Potomac&#8217;s <strong>Alexandria Puskar-Beckett, Holly Jansen, Cassidy Bayer<\/strong> and <strong>Jenna Martin<\/strong> won the 200-yard medley relay with a 1:45.46.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson&#8217;s <strong>Lisa Zangla, Grace Gartman, Livi Schmid<\/strong> and <strong>Hannah Baker<\/strong> snared the 200-yard free relay in 1:36.22.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson&#8217;s<strong> Lisa Zangla, Grace Gartman, Livi Schmid<\/strong> and <strong>Hannah Baker<\/strong> also won the 400-yard free relay in 3:30.39.<\/p>\n<p>Mount Vernon&#8217;s <strong>Hailey Fisher<\/strong> claimed the one-meter diving crown with 447.10 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Women &#8211; Team Rankings &#8211; Through Event 24<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Woodbridge Senior High School 1<\/p>\n<p><strong>Boys<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Robinson Secondary won the 6A title with 235 points. \u00a0Langley (190), Patriot (178), McLean (161) and Woodson (146.5) finished second through fifth.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson&#8217;s <strong>James Jones<\/strong> topped the 50-yard free in 20.48. Jones doubled with a 45.39 to win the 100-yard free.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson&#8217;s <strong>James Murphy<\/strong> hit the wall in 1:37.42 to break the 6A record in the 200-yard free. \u00a0He clocked a 1:38.24 to set the time during prelims. \u00a0Murphy earned another win with a 48.99 in the 100-yard back.<\/p>\n<p>Stonewall Jackson&#8217;s <strong>Sam Pomajevich<\/strong> set the 6A record in the 100-yard fly with a time of 48.84. That swim cleared <strong>Evan Baker&#8217;s<\/strong> 2014 mark of 49.23.<\/p>\n<p>Langley&#8217;s <strong>Casey Storch<\/strong> won the 200-yard IM in 1:50.44.<\/p>\n<p>West Springfield&#8217;s <strong>Lane Stone<\/strong> topped the 500-yard free in 4:27.64.<\/p>\n<p>Patriot&#8217;s <strong>Spencer Rowe<\/strong> captured the 100-yard breast in 56.00.<\/p>\n<p>Patriot&#8217;s <strong>Will Cumberland, Spencer Rowe, Cole Cooper<\/strong> and <strong>AJ Ross<\/strong> clocked a time of 1:32.88 in the 200-yard medley relay to lower the state and 6A record. \u00a0Thomas Jefferson owned the previous state record with a 1:33.00 from last year, while Oakton owned the 6A mark with a 1:33.75 from 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson&#8217;s <strong>James Murphy, Peter Brukx, Roman Lowery<\/strong> and <strong>Luke Jones<\/strong> claimed the 200-yard free relay in 1:24.79.<\/p>\n<p>Robinson&#8217;s <strong>James Murphy, Roman Lowery, Peter Brukx<\/strong> and<strong> James Jones<\/strong> topped the 400-yard free relay in 3:08.39.<\/p>\n<p>James Madison&#8217;s<strong> Grayson Campbell<\/strong> won the one-meter diving title with 607.60 points.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Men &#8211; Team Rankings &#8211; Through Event 24<\/strong><br \/>\n1.
