The Mercersburg women took first in the meet with a final score of 471 while, it was the Peddie men who took first with a meet record-breaking 517.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alex Sumner\u00a0<\/strong>of Episcopal downed the meet record in the women&#8217;s 100 back by more than half a second. The previous meet record was set by\u00a0<strong>Teresa Crippen\u00a0<\/strong>in 2008 and was a time of 54.16. Sumner lowered that record to a final 53.57. Second in the back went to\u00a0<strong>Michaela McGeary\u00a0<\/strong>of Notre Dame and her time of 57.91, while Linsly&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sydney West<\/strong> rounded out the top three with a 1:00.07.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Watch Interview With Alex Sumner<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jl6d8kd_QIg\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Penn Charter breaststroke superstar\u00a0<strong>Reece Whitley\u00a0<\/strong>succeeded in lowering his own meet record in the men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke after first lowering it this morning. Whitley turned his 53.11 from prelims into a final time of 52.97 tonight, just barely missing the National Prep School record of 52.92.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Payton Miles\u00a0<\/strong>of The Hill School posted a final time of 50.98 to win the women&#8217;s 100 free. Mercersburg&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lindsay Tanner\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a time of 51.30, while Peddie&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Vanessa Ruiz\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 51.86.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryan Torie\u00a0<\/strong>of Springside Chestnut Hill continued his sprinting dominance with a win in the men&#8217;s 100 free. Torie posted a final time of 45.04 just ahead of The Hill School&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Alberto Mestre\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 45.10. Penn Charter&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Mahoney\u00a0<\/strong>took third with a time of 45.67.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Karlee Carminati\u00a0<\/strong>of Germantown Academy maintained her first place seed with a final time of 4:52.24. Coming in second was Mercersburg&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stephanie Downing<\/strong> with a time of 5:03.27, shaving a little over two seconds off her prelims time of 5:05.68. In third was Episcopal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hadley DeBruyn<\/strong> with a time of 5:04.44.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matt Haigh\u00a0<\/strong>of Haverford battled for first in the men&#8217;s 500 free finishing with a time of 4:32.24. In second was Episcopal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ivan Puskovitch\u00a0<\/strong>with a time of 4:33.89 just barely ahead of Peddie&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Roman Horoszewski\u00a0<\/strong>time of 4:33.98.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alex Boratto\u00a0<\/strong> of Haverford neared the meet record of 49.08 in the men&#8217;s 100 back. He finished with a time of 49.62 for first. In second was Episcopal&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ben Baturka\u00a0<\/strong>posting a final time of 50.69, while third went to Haverford&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Charlie Ryan\u00a0<\/strong>and his time of 51.01.<\/p>\n<p>Episcopal turned in a 1-3 finish in the women&#8217;s 100 breaststroke with senior\u00a0<strong>Sarah Baturka\u00a0<\/strong>claiming the top spot. She finished with a time of 1:04.72 to lower her prelims time of 1:05.09. Teammate\u00a0<strong>Sally Stockett\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a time of 1:05.42, while second in the event was Mercersburg&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Courtney Levins\u00a0<\/strong>who posted a time of 1:05.42.<\/p>\n<p>Episcopal&#8217;s relay team of\u00a0<strong>Emma Seiberlich\u00a0<\/strong>(51.67), Sumner (51.83), DeBruyn (52.71), and Baturka (51.19) took first in the women&#8217;s 400 free relay with a final time of 3:27.40. Second was Mercersburg with a time of 3:30.57, and third went to Peddie and their time of 3:31.88.<\/p>\n<p>The Peddie men fought hard in the men&#8217;s 400 free relay trying for a new meet record but unfortunately missed it by just over two seconds. The relay team of\u00a0<strong>Jared Fitzgerald<\/strong> (45.18),\u00a0<strong>Nathan Stern<\/strong> (45.12),\u00a0<strong>Joe Black<\/strong> (46.28), and Horoszewski (45.45) finished with a final time of 3:02.03.
