during the final day of prelims at the 2016 Big Ten Women&#8217;s Championships.<\/p>\n<p>With the mile and platform diving still left to go, both of which Michigan has more potential point-scorers than Indiana, the Wolverines put themselves in a good spot to win the Big Ten title this evening. \u00a0Heading into the mile, Michigan has 16 finalists (6\/5\/5), while Indiana has 15 (6\/4\/5).<\/p>\n<p>Michigan has not won a Big Ten women&#8217;s title since 2004, when they beat Penn State 604.5-590.5.<\/p>\n<p><strong>200 back<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Michigan&#8217;s <strong>Clara Smiddy<\/strong> led the way for the Wolverines with a top-seeded time of 1:52.11. \u00a0Her teammate <strong>Gabrielle DeLoof<\/strong> qualified third in 1:54.89, while Indiana&#8217;s<strong> Kennedy Goss<\/strong> split the difference with a second-seeded 1:52.95.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana matched Michigan&#8217;s A finalist numbers with <strong>Marie Chamberlain<\/strong> qualifying sixth in 1:55.48.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana picked up an extra finalist compared to Michigan in the 200 back with 5 total qualifiers (2\/2\/1). \u00a0Michigan, who put together a 100+ point event in the 100 back last <strong>Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> gave the Wolverines a 1-3 effort this morning with a third-seeded 48.57. \u00a0Ohio State&#8217;s <strong>Li Zhesi<\/strong> hit the wall second overall in 48.38.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana, locked in a battle for the team title, put one through to the A final as <strong>Holly Spears<\/strong> qualified seventh in 49.19.<\/p>\n<p>After the 100 free, Michigan had
