The third finals session of the 2016 Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships commenced tonight, with many NCAA B cuts across the board.<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s 100 breast, the top five finishers made NCAA B time standards. Tim Cottam<\/strong> from Denver stole the show with his winning time of 53.11, while teammate Patrick Guillory<\/strong> came back from the 100 fly earlier in the session to grab second with a time of 54.69. IUPUI\u2019s Jonathan Stoller<\/strong> claimed third with a time of 55.07, Chance<\/strong>\u00a0McQuigg<\/strong> of Western Illinois took fourth with a time of 55.21, and Denver\u2019s Travis<\/strong> Greenwald<\/strong> moved into fifth with his 55.25.<\/p>\n

Starting off the evening was the women\u2019s 400 yard medley relay. The University of Denver did as expected, killing the competition by almost 12 seconds. The team of Johanna Roas<\/strong> (53.16), Amanda Sanders<\/strong> (1:00.27), Heidi Bradley<\/strong> (52.88), and Zoe<\/strong> Huddleston<\/strong> (49.85) swam a combined time of 3:36.16, missing the Summit league championship record by one hundredth. The IUPUI squad of Tori Kroon<\/strong> (55.52), Mary<\/strong> Klueh<\/strong> (1:05.98), Alexis Bullard<\/strong> (54.83), and Madison Taylor<\/strong> (51.71) teamed up to grab silver with a time of 3:48.04, only 14 hundredths ahead of South Dakota State University\u2019s Cassie Hendricks<\/strong> (56.98), Kristin Erf<\/strong> (1:02.29), Richelle Bruyckere<\/strong> (57.38), and Katya Vakshteyn<\/strong> (51.53), finishing at 3:48.18.<\/p>\n

On the men\u2019s side, there was a similar story, as the Denver men secured victory with a NCAA B standard time of 3:09.55. The relay was made up of Anton Loncar<\/strong> (47.33), Tim<\/strong> Cottam<\/strong> (52.96), Kyle Robrock<\/strong> (46.25), and Ray Bornman<\/strong> (43.01). IUPUI scored second place by a hair in this event too, with the team of Aaron Brysch<\/strong> (50.06), Jonathan Stoller<\/strong> (54.33), Andrew Olson<\/strong> (49.95), and Lennart Kuester<\/strong> (44.03) out-touching Western Illinois University\u2019s Sam Almhiemid<\/strong> (50.96), Chance McQuigg<\/strong> (55.59), Chris Neaveill<\/strong> (47.12), and Tyler Neaveill<\/strong> (45.18), who touched the wall at 3:18.85.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s 400 IM was next, and it was won with a new Summit league championship record by University of Denver\u2019s Bailey Andison<\/strong>, dropping almost seven seconds from prelims to swim another NCAA B cut, 4:08.35. Andison also broke the Summit league championship record set by teammate Maddie Myers<\/strong> in the morning session. Myers took second place with a new best time of 4:10.68, while teammate Clara Jenck<\/strong> grabbed third and her B cut, touching at 4:10.68.<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s 400 yard individual medley followed, with Denver taking first through fourth place. Kyle Ewoldt<\/strong> led the way, with a time of 3:51.24, while Lane Bretschneider<\/strong> took silver with a time of 3:54.48, one hundredth under the NCAA B time standard. Ben<\/strong> Severino<\/strong> moved into third with a time of 3:56.98, while Alex Walton<\/strong> took fourth with his 4:00.79.<\/p>\n

In the 100 yard butterfly, Denver\u2019s Heidi Bradley<\/strong> solidified her victory with a final time of 54.13. Maranda Buha<\/strong> from IUPUI secured second place and her NCAA B standard time, going the cut exactly at 54.49. Teammate Alexis Bullard<\/strong> finished third, swimming 55.17.<\/p>\n

For the men\u2019s 100 fly, Chris Neaveill<\/strong> from Western Illinois kept his seed and grabbed the gold, finishing with a NCAA B cut of 47.40. Ben Ussery<\/strong> of Denver moved into second place with his time of 48.52, while teammate Guillory took third, touching at 49.32.<\/p>\n

Like in heats before, Denver took over the top four spots in the women\u2019s 200 yard freestyle. Morgan Mullenix<\/strong> dropped her time to 1:48.53, Morgan Wice-Roslin<\/strong> also went a new best of 1:48.53, while third place Zoe Huddleston<\/strong> and fourth place Grace<\/strong> Sommerville<\/strong> also improved to 1:50.04 and 1:50.21, respectively.<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s 200 free, Denver rounded out the top three finishers as well. Ray Bornman<\/strong>\u00a0solidified first with his time of 1:35.16, Dylan Bunch<\/strong> moved into second with a 1:36.92, and Luke Williams<\/strong> took third with 1:37.19. All three men made the NCAA B time standard.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s 100 breast was won by Amanda Sanders<\/strong> of Denver in a time of 1:00.69. South Dakota State University\u2019s Kristin Erf<\/strong> and Kayce Smith<\/strong> then stepped up to secure\u00a0second and third place, respectively. Erf scored a NCAA B cut with a time of 1:02.36, and Smith dropped her time to 1:03.52.<\/p>\n

The Denver women showed their strength again in the women\u2019s 100 yard backstroke. Johanna Roas<\/strong> took first with her time of 53.21, while Morgan McCormick<\/strong> secured second with her 53.67. Lexie Malazdrewicz<\/strong> moved up into third and earned her NCAA B cut with a time of 54.84.<\/p>\n

On the men\u2019s side, the Denver men went 1-2-3 as well. Anton Loncar<\/strong> finished first with a time of 46.96 and Kyle Robrock<\/strong> touched the wall second in 47.03, both NCAA B times. Jared Smith<\/strong> came in third with a time of 48.93.<\/p>\n

For the men\u2019s one meter diving competition, Krisztian Somhegyi<\/strong> from IUPUI was the king of the boards again, taking first place with 301.25 points. Teammate Mitch Mastey<\/strong> earned second place, scoring 294.40, while University of South Dakota\u2019s Chase Testa<\/strong> took third with a final score of 271.55.<\/p>\n
