AUSTIN, Texas, July 23. SWIM With Inspiration and Motivation (SWIM) is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from The Will Sarosdy Swim for Life Fund. The grant was received on June 7, in honor of Will's birthday. <\/p>\n
The funds from this grant will help SWIM impact an additional 25 kids in the greater Austin area. Each participant in SWIM receives equipment, instruction from experienced coaches and world class swimmers, and food to help serve as sustenance after a hard workout. <\/p>\n
"We at SWIM believe this grant from the Will Sarosdy Swim For Life Fund will help us as we become more involved in the Austin community," SWIM Executive Director Paul Wallace said. "And, most importantly, it will be honoring a great friend in Will Sarosdy. We are obviously very grateful that the Fund has selected SWIM to help carry on the lessons Will constantly imparted on his athletes\u2026life-long friendships, experiences and core values including discipline, integrity and self-respect." <\/p>\n
The next session of SWIM is scheduled to begin in September. <\/p>\n
The Will Sarosdy Swim for Life Fund was established in Will's memory to support swim programs throughout the country, including especially programs to help underprivileged youth participate in the sport of swimming. As an athlete and a coach Will recognized that swimming is about more than competition; it is about developing life-long friendships, experiences and core values including discipline, integrity and self-respect, about helping others to learn and improve, about being the best one can be and bringing out the best in others. This fund will try to realize Will's goal of making those opportunities available to young people who might otherwise not have them. <\/p>\n

The Swim With Inspiration and Motivation program was established in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) with the goal of helping teach life lessons through the sport of swimming to at-risk and low socio-economic kids in Austin, Texas. Structured to work with local non-profits, such as the Boys and Girls Club and Big Brothers, Big Sisters, to identify kids that are both interested and motivated, the organization has taught key lessons about life through swimming to over 125 kids. We currently fill a void in the current community, and serve as a bridge between the essential "Learn not to Drown" programs teaching water safety and the full fledged USA Swimming clubs by providing opportunities to those who typically would not have such resources. <\/p>\n
