The prelims of the men\u2019s and women\u2019s 400 IM, 100 butterfly and 200 free were swam.<\/p>\n<p>Last night\u2019s winner of the 200 IM, <strong>Rebecca Matthews<\/strong> of Lynn, had the fastest time of the morning in the women\u2019s 400 IM with a 2:23.71. Nova Southeastern came in second and third. <strong>Courney DeVeny<\/strong> went a 4:28.85 to be seeded second going into finals and behind her was her teammate <strong>Malin Westman<\/strong> with a 4:29.18.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Southern\u2019s <strong>Matthew Holmes<\/strong> touched first in the men\u2019s 400 IM this morning with a 3:54.22. Florida Tech\u2019s <strong>Yogoh Kubagawa<\/strong> came in second with a 5:56.62 and <strong>Antonio Nunez<\/strong>, also from Florida tech went a 3:57.41 for third.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s 100 butterfly, <strong>Natalia Garriock<\/strong> from St. Leo, touched the wall first with a 56.13 and two one hundredths behind her was Florida Southern\u2019s <strong>Krystal Karas<\/strong> with a 56.15 and to be seeded second going into finals. Tampa\u2019s <strong>Victoria Horsman<\/strong> finished in third with a 56.50<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thiago Sickert<\/strong> of Nova Southeastern had the fastest time this morning in the men\u2019s 100 butterfly with a 47.32. This is only a few one hundreths\u2019s off of the current SSC record of 47.29 held by <strong>Pawl Trenda<\/strong>. Trenda touched second this morning with a 47.76 and <strong>Edson Lima<\/strong> from Florida Southern came in third with a 47.92.<\/p>\n<p>Nova Southeastern\u2019s <strong>Emma Wahlstrom<\/strong> had the quickest time of he morning in the women\u2019s 200 freestyle. Going a 1;50.07 she is seeded first going into finals tonight. Florida Southern had the second and third fastest times of the morning. <strong>Alli Crenshaw<\/strong>, who won the 1000 free last night, went a 1:50.40 for second this morning and her teammate <strong>Kelsey Gouge<\/strong> touched in at a 1;50.96 for third.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s 200 free <strong>Jesus Marin<\/strong> from Florida Southern had the fastest time of the morning with a 1:37.61. <strong>Jeremy Parker<\/strong> of Tampa will be seeded second at finals with a 1:38.16 and close behind him was Nova Southeastern\u2019s <strong>Victor Tarin<\/strong> with a 1:38.91.<\/p>\n<p>Finals will begin at 6 pm (EST) tonight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delaney Lanker, Swimming World College Intern Day two of the Sunshine State Conference Championships began this morning.
