The UMBC Men are also now in the lead while entering the last day of the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Championship on February 20.<\/p>\n<p>Four meet records fell last night. On the men&#8217;s side the meet record was broken for the 400 IM and 100 Fly. On the women&#8217;s side, the meet record for the 200 freestyle was broken and also the 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n<h2>Women&#8217;s Team Scores<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>FGCU-1,188<\/li>\n<li>Liberty-944<\/li>\n<li>Georgia Southern-685<\/li>\n<li>Gardner-Webb-579<\/li>\n<li>Incarnate Word-519<\/li>\n<li>Campbell-469<\/li>\n<li>UNC-Asheville-323<\/li>\n<li>University of North Florida-310<\/li>\n<li>North Carolina A&amp;T-145<\/li>\n<li>VMI-132<\/li>\n<li>Howard-127<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Finals started off with the 400 IM. In first place was London Schumacher (Gardner-Webb) with a time of 4:15.38. Following in second was Christina Elmgreen from FGCU (4:16.73).\u00a0Teammate Barbara Caraballo finished third with a 4:20.48.<\/p>\n<p>Freshman from FGCU, Fanny Teijonsalo, had an incredible 100 butterfly. Finishing first with a time of 52.47, missing the meet record by only .33. In second place was Giorgie Graves (Gardner-Webb) with a 53.94. Third place finisher was Yee Ching Wong (FGCU) with a 54.48.<\/p>\n<p>In the 200 freestyle, Elise Haan set a new meet record. This freshman from FGCU went a 1:46.20, beating the previous meet record by more than half a second after\u00a0she had tied it in prelims. Second place was Liberty&#8217;s Natalie Beale with a 1:48.12. FGCU&#8217;s Linda Shaw got third (1:48.66).<\/p>\n<p>FGCU&#8217;s Evita Leter won the women&#8217;s 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.10. Second place Prudence Rooker (Liberty) swam a 1:02.09, touching out Lili Toth from Gardner-Webb (1:02.46).<\/p>\n<p>Winner and record breaker of the 200 yard freestyle, Elise Haan (FGCU) also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 52.08. Second place went to teammate Katie Latham (53.94). Third place finisher was Liberty&#8217;s Kendall Hough (54.11).<\/p>\n<p>Day 3 finals ended with the women&#8217;s 400 medley relay. FGCU took gold and set a new meet record with a time of 3:33.92. The relay consisted of Elise Haan, Katie Armitage, Fanny Teijonsalo, and Katie Latham. Second place went to Liberty (3:44.14). Third place was Gardner-Webb (3:45.01).<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s Team Scores<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>UMBC-1,033<\/li>\n<li>Incarnate Word-921<\/li>\n<li>Old Dominion-859.5<\/li>\n<li>Gardner-Webb-769<\/li>\n<li>Florida Atlantic-685<\/li>\n<li>NJIT-365.5<\/li>\n<li>Howard-234<\/li>\n<li>VMI-205<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The men&#8217;s meet started off with a meet record-breaking race by David Moore. Incarnate Word junior went a 3:45.24. Second place and teammate, Beau Fusilier swam a 3:50.84. Third place went to Anton Mikaelsson, from Old Dominion, with a 3:51.38.<\/p>\n<p>The men&#8217;s 100 yard butterfly was won by Gardner-Webb&#8217;s Nathan Lile, with a 46.52, he broke the meet record by .13. Also going under the previous meet record was second place winner, Reed Mathews (Old Dominion) with a time of 46.61. Third place finisher was Philip Adejumo (UMBC) with a time of 48.43.<\/p>\n<p>Following the 100 butterfly was the 200 freestyle. Gregor Spoerlein of UMBC won the event with a 1:37.63. In second place was Matthieu Burtez (FAU)\u00a0who clocked in at a 1:37.70. Third place went to Victor Sa of Old Dominion (1:37.87).<\/p>\n<p>Leo Endres (UMBC) won the 100 breaststroke with a 54.27. Andrey Chechelnytskyi from Incarnate Word got second (54.81). Third place, Jacob Zeidler (Old Dominion) swam a 55.12.<\/p>\n<p>The final individual event of the night, the 100 backstroke, was won by Hunter Swartsel (FAU). He swam a 48.53. Second place with a time of 48.69 was Connor Bos (Gardner-Webb). John Brennock of FAU placed third (49.01).<\/p>\n<p>The session ended with the 400 medley relay. Old Dominion won the race with a time of 3:14.33. The relay consisted of Anton Mikaelsson, Jacob Zeidler, Reed Mathews, and Victor Sa. Second place finisher was UMBC (3:16.06).
