The teams competing include Florida Institute of Technology, Florida Southern College, Lynn University, Nova Southern University, Rollins College, Saint Leo University and The University of Tampa. The prelims of the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 200 IM and 50 free were swum this morning.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 200 IM, current SSC Record holder <strong>Rebecca Matthews<\/strong> of Lynn had the fastest time of the morning with a 2:02.71. St. Leo&#8217;s <strong>Nicole Weber<\/strong> came in second this morning with a 2:05.77 and Southern Florida&#8217;s <strong>Morgan Burns<\/strong> touched third with a 2:06.14.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew Holmes<\/strong> from Florida Southern had the fastest time of the morning in the men&#8217;s 200 IM with a 1:49.18. Right behind him was Nova Southeastern&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marco Aldabe<\/strong> who went a 1:49.28 for second and <strong>Antonio Nunez<\/strong> from Florida Southern who touched third with a 1:49.59.<\/p>\n<p>Tampa&#8217;s <strong>Marisa Barton<\/strong> went a 23.48 to be seeded first going into finals tonight in the women&#8217;s 50 free. One one hundredth behind her was Florida Southern&#8217;s <strong>Kelsey Gouge<\/strong> with a 23.49. Nova Southeastern&#8217;s <strong>Sydney Panzarino<\/strong> finished third with a 23.56.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 50 free,<strong> Nir Barnea<\/strong> of Florida Tech had the fastest time of the morning with a 20.08 and Tampa&#8217;s <strong>Martin Hammer<\/strong> came in second with a 20.13. There was a tie for third place between Nova Southern&#8217;s <strong>Thiago Sickert<\/strong> and <strong>Matheus Assis<\/strong> of St. Leo who both went a 20.19. Sickert is the current SSC record holder with a 19.88.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight the finals of the above events will be swam as well as the fastest heat of the men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s 1000 free and 200 medley relay. The 1000 freestyle is a timed final event.
