The CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships began on February 17. at the Gabrielsen Natatorium.<\/p>\n
Florida Gulf Coast University took first place in the 200 yard Medley Relay and the 800 yard Freestyle Relay. FGCU’s lineup of Elise Haan<\/strong> (24.24), Katie Ermitage<\/strong> (27.37), Fanny Teijonsalo<\/strong> (23.56) and Katie Latham<\/strong> (22.49) won the medley with a time of 1:37.66.<\/p>\n Following close behind was Liberty University with a 1:39.37 swum by Victoria Tschoke<\/strong> (25.50), Prudence Rooker<\/strong> (27.74), Kendall Hough<\/strong> (23.69), and Rachel Hoeve<\/strong> (22.44). Third place time was Gardner-Webb University with a 1:42.92 swam by Lili Toth<\/strong> (25.95), Whitney Peters <\/strong>(28.83), Giorgie Graves<\/strong> (24.52), and Kelsey Williams<\/strong> (23.62).<\/p>\n The 800 yard freestyle relay swam by FGCU’s Haan<\/strong> (1:47.67), Linda Shaw<\/strong> (1:48.67), Barbara Caraballo<\/strong> (1:48.48), and Lani Cabrera<\/strong> (1:49.01) set a new CCSA record of 7:13.83.<\/p>\n Liberty relay of Natalie Beale<\/strong> (1:48.68), Ashley Sall<\/strong> (1:50.81), Kristin VanDeventer<\/strong> (1:50.46), and Shelby Black<\/strong> (1:51.75) followed in second place with a time of 7:21.70 \u00a0. Georgia Southern took third place with a time of 7:26.10 swam by Kylee Parsons<\/strong>, Kaylyn Thomas<\/strong>, Rachel Pelzek<\/strong>, and Mykala Arnold<\/strong>.<\/p>\n 3-meter diving was won by GSU, Emma Weisel<\/strong> with a score of 294.90. Mikaila Burning<\/strong> of FGCU placed second with a \u00a0score of 264.35. In third place was Kimberly Forster<\/strong> from University of the Incarnate Word with a score of 243.05.<\/p>\n Scores and Standings after Day 1:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The 800 yard freestyle relay was a close race. In first place, University of the Incarnate Word relay of Beau Fusilier<\/strong> (1:37.92), Kyrylo Shvets<\/strong> (1:38.39), Jack Hennessy II<\/strong> (1:38.57), and Connor Hennessy<\/strong> (1:38.22) won with a 6:33.10.<\/p>\n Second place team of Nikola Trajkovic<\/strong> (1:38.44), Ahmed Wahby<\/strong> (1:40.09), Felix Richtsfeld<\/strong> (1:39.02), and Gregor Spoerlein<\/strong> (1:36.66) from UMBC swam a 6:34.21. Old Dominican team, Anton Mikaelsson<\/strong> (1:39.26), Reed Mathews<\/strong> (1:38.40), Donovan Pope<\/strong> (1:39.96), and Vitor Sa<\/strong> (1:37.65) finished third place with an overall time of 6:35.27.<\/p>\n Men’s 1 meter diving was won by Ryan McIntire<\/strong> of FAU with a score of 344.95. Second place from Old Dominion, with a score of 303.00 was Corey Moreno<\/strong>. In third place, with a score of 278.75, was Old Dominion teammate Danny Rabe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The 200 yard medley was won by Gardner-Webb University with a time of 1:27.72. The relay was swam by Connor Bos<\/strong> (21.98), Jake Ennis<\/strong> (25.17), Tyler Gomez<\/strong> (21.55), and Nathan Lile<\/strong> (19.02).<\/p>\n Second place finishers, Pope<\/strong> (23.27), Zeidler\u00a0<\/strong>(24.05), Matthews\u00a0<\/strong>(21.18), and Graham Thatcher<\/strong> (19.89), of Old Dominion went a 1:28.39 in the medley relay.
