And in a sense, we didn\u2019t. This week\u2019s performance of the week goes to Queens sophomore <\/span><b>Patricia Castro Ortega, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">who put on an incredible show at the Bluegrass Conference Meet this past week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All told, <\/span><b>Castro Ortega <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">left the meet setting a total of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">six <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Division II NCAA records; three as an individual and three as part of a relay. <\/span><b>Castro Ortega <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/queens-dominates-night-1-of-bluegrass-mountain-conference-championships\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">swam butterfly on two record setting medley relays, splitting 24.06 and 53.49, as well as on a record setting 800 free relay<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The sophomore also led off the 800 free relay with another NCAA record in the individual 200 free, touching in 1:44.44. <\/span><b>Castro Ortega\u2019s <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">other individual NCAA records came <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/patricia-castro-ortega-sets-another-ncaa-dii-record-at-bmc\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the 500 free (4:40.65)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/184928-2\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">400 IM (4:09.93)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. For good measure, the sophomore also set <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/queens-wins-2016-bluegrass-mountain-conference-championship\/\">a meet record in the 100 freestyle (49.13)<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">less than two-tenths off her national record from last year. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With her performances of this meet, <\/span><b>Castro Ortega <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is now the current record holder in a staggering <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nine <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NCAA Division II records: 100 (48.92), 200 (1:44.44), and 500 (4:40.65) freestyles, the 200 (1:58.60) and 400 (4:09.93) IM, the 200 butterfly (1:58.02), and as a member of both medley relays and the 800 free relay.
