Led by junior Emily Escobedo,\u00a0<\/strong>University of Maryland, Baltimore County earned a first place finish at the America East Conference Championships. The school finished with 885.5 points. New Hampshire was in second and Vermont was third. Maine and Binghamton finished fourth and fifth, respectfully.<\/p>\n

New Hampshire’s\u00a0Jess Harper\u00a0<\/strong>took first place in the 1650-yard freestyle. She posted a time of 16.33.54.\u00a0Lauren Massicot\u00a0<\/strong>of Maryland, Baltimore County was second and New Hampshire’s\u00a0Brittany Moffat\u00a0<\/strong>touched third.<\/p>\n

Linnea Lemerise\u00a0<\/strong>of New Hampshire touched first in the 200-yard backstroke, posting a time of 2:00.28. Maryland, Baltimore County’s\u00a0Aleasha Knight\u00a0<\/strong>touched second over half a second later and Vermont’s\u00a0Danielle Rochel\u00a0<\/strong>finished third.<\/p>\n

New Hampshire continued its hot start in the 100-yard freestyle.\u00a0Liza Baykova\u00a0<\/strong>of the Wildcats touched first in 49.81. She was\u00a0over half a second ahead of Vermont’s\u00a0Sarah Mantz,\u00a0<\/strong>the second place finisher. Maryland, Baltimore County’s\u00a0Kristie Langford\u00a0<\/strong>touched third.<\/p>\n

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Maryland, Baltimore County’s Escobedo\u00a0<\/strong>had a monster swim. The junior posted a NCAA qualifying time of 2:06.21, winning by over 12 seconds.\u00a0Kayla Lilly,\u00a0<\/strong>her teammate, finished second and New Hampshire’s\u00a0Bettina Caspers\u00a0<\/strong>was third.<\/p>\n

The Retrievers picked up another\u00a01-2 finish\u00a0in the 200-yard butterfly.\u00a0Catherine Frediani\u00a0<\/strong>touched ahead of teammate\u00a0Hannah Sutherland\u00a0<\/strong>with a time of 2:02.66. Binghamton’s\u00a0Taryn McLaughlin\u00a0<\/strong>touched in third.<\/p>\n

The meet ended with the 400-yard freestyle relay. New Hampshire pulled out the victory with a time of 3:25.40. The Wildcat team consisted of Baykova, Harper, Moffat and\u00a0Sarah Broderick.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
