The Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships concluded this evening. The women’s 100 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay and men’s 100 backstroke and 200 breastroke GLVC records were broken. Drury University won the Championship title for the men’s meet and Truman State University took the title for the women.<\/p>\n

In the finals of the women’s 1650 freestyle, Drury’s Megan Ouhl<\/strong> won the event in the time of 17:10.98. Truman State took the silver and bronze with Shannon Dague<\/strong> came in at a 7:11.51 for second and Jasmine Roghair<\/strong>\u00a0went a 17:17.57 for third.<\/p>\n

Alex Reinbrecht<\/strong> of Drury won the men’s 1560 free with the time of 15:33.31. William Jewell’s Joao Pedro Granato<\/strong> went a 15:41.36 for the silver and Danny Notarianni<\/strong> took bronze with a 15:43.08.<\/p>\n

Wen Xu<\/strong> of Drury had\u00a0a record breaking 100 freestyle win tonight. She went a 49.07, breaking her own 2015 GLVC record of 49.83. Truman took the silver and the bronze\u00a0in the event. Nikki Sisson<\/strong> came in second place with a 50.62. Her teammate Evyn Spencer<\/strong> touched in at 51.43 for the bronze.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 100 free, Keith Sponsler<\/strong> of Missouri S&T finished in a 44.19 for the gold. Daniel Rzadkowski<\/strong> of Drury came in for the silver with the time of 44.39. Right behind him was his teammate Rodrigo Caceres<\/strong> swimming into third place with a 44.53.<\/p>\n

Truman’s Hannah Nicks<\/strong> won the women’s 200 backstroke in the time of 2:01.49. Agnieszka Malecka<\/strong> of UINDY came in second place tonight with a 2:02.09 and Truman’s Grace Fodor<\/strong> came in for the bronze with a 2:02.09.<\/p>\n

UINDY’s Rodrigo Codo Berti<\/strong>\u00a0swam to gold in the men’s 100 backstroke tonight. <\/strong>\u00a0He won the event with a 1:45.80 and with this time he broke the 2015 GLVC record of 1:46.88. Ramiro Olivares<\/strong> of Drury finished for\u00a0second place with a 1:46.46, also breaking the previous GLVC record, and\u00a0Mads Knoblauch<\/strong> of Lewis came in third place with a 1:47.32.<\/p>\n

Last night’s 100 breastroke winner, Zuzanna Chwadeczko<\/strong> of Drury, won the women’s 200 breasktoke tonight in the time of 2:17.52. Sophia Nelson<\/strong> was right behind her and went a 2:17.96 for the silver and UINDY’s Michelle Mikaelsson<\/strong> touched the wall third with a 2:21.01 for the bronze.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 200 breaststroke, Miguel Chavez<\/strong> of Missouri S&T, bested his morning swim of a 1:57.08 going a 1:56.99 and resetting GLVC record. Drury took the silver and bronze. Jesus Flores<\/strong> finished second with a 1:58.47 and his teammate Andrea Bazzoli<\/strong> came in third with a 2:00.48.<\/p>\n

Truman’s women’s 400 freestyle relay won the event in the time of 3:25.12. With this time the team of Evyn Spencer<\/strong> (51.27), Jamie Fitzpatrick<\/strong> (52.17), Allison Strickler<\/strong> (51.57) and Nikki Sisson<\/strong> (50.11) broke the previous GLVC record of 3:25.47. Drury came in second (3:25.43) with a team of Val Carvajal<\/strong> (53.23), Gretchen Stein<\/strong> (51.29), Madeline Nelson<\/strong> (52.11) and Wen Xu (48.80). UINDY’s Stefanie Haholiades (52.69), Malvina Shoukri (52.90), Madeline Mahoney<\/strong> (52.59) and Hannah Schuster<\/strong> (51.94) came in third (3:30.12).<\/p>\n

Missouri S&T won the men’s 400 free relay (2:57.98) with the team of Eirik Nielsen<\/strong> (45.19), Jonathan Glaser<\/strong> (44.08), Morgan Meyer<\/strong> (45.12) and Keith Sponsler<\/strong> (43.59). Drury came in second with the time of 2:58.36 and the squad of Daniel Rzadkowski<\/strong> (44.07), Luka Matacin<\/strong> (45.64), David Wong<\/strong> (44.83) and Rodrigo Caceres<\/strong> (43.82). Lewis took the bronze (3:03.38) with Aiden Brennan<\/strong> (45.89), Quinn Poti<\/strong> (45.81), Mads Knoblauch<\/strong> (47.38) and Adam Wise<\/strong> (44.30).<\/p>\n
