On day two of the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships began with the prelims swims of the men’s and women’s 500 freestyle, 200 IM and 50 freestyle.<\/p>\n

In the women’s 500 freestyle UC San Diego had the top four fastest times. Haley Hamza<\/strong>, who won the 1000 free last night, had the fastest time of the morning with a 4:59.36. Teammates Stephanie Sin<\/strong> came in second with a 5:00.64 and Reagan Eickert<\/strong> touched the wall third (5:01.10).<\/p>\n

UC San Diego men also had the fastest three times of the morning in the 500 freestyle. Chandler Pourvahidi<\/strong> finished first with a 4:28.02. Kevin Fink<\/strong> came in second with a 4:30.00 and Michael Cohn<\/strong> touched in third with a 4:31.00.<\/p>\n

Hannah Calton<\/strong> of Loyola Marymount came in with the fastest time in the women’s 200 IM going a 2:03.88. Fresno Pacific’s Bavindeep Basra<\/strong> touched in second with a 2:04.80 and Loyola Marymount’s Kristen Clarno<\/strong> is going into finals tonight seeded third with a 2:05.04.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 200 IM UC San Diego had the four fastest times of the morning. Garrett Tse<\/strong> came in with a 1:49.11 for first. CJ Pais<\/strong> went a 1:51.85 and is seeded second going into finals and teammate Alexander Moshensky<\/strong> is third (1:53.44).<\/p>\n

UC San Diego took the top three fastest times in the women’s 50 freestyle this morning. Colleen Daley<\/strong> touched the wall first with a 22.98. Natalie Tang<\/strong> went a 23.14, touching second and Angie Phetbenjakul<\/strong> got third this morning (23.66).<\/p>\n

Arthur Heale<\/strong> of UC San Diego put up the fastest time of the morning in the men’s 50 freestyle with a 20.31. His teammate Kevin Wylder<\/strong> came in second with a 20.47 and John Dowd<\/strong> of Concordia University-Irvine finished third in a 20.54.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s finals will begin at 4:30 pm (PST) and the finals of the above events will be swum as well as the men’s and women’s 200 freestyle relays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
