The final day of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships began this morning. The men’s and women’s 100 free, 200 back and 200 breast were swam. The men’s 100 freestyle and 200 breastroke GLVC record were broken in this morning’s prelims session.<\/p>\n

Wen Xu<\/strong>, who also won the women’s 50 freestyle, came in with the fastest time of the morning in the women’s 100 freestyle with the time of 50.71 for Drury. Truman came in second and third in the event. Nikki Sisson<\/strong> came in with the second fastest time with a 51.10. Teammate Evyn Spencer<\/strong> came in third with a 51.62.<\/p>\n

In the men’s 100 free, Daniel Rzadkowski<\/strong> of Drury came in first with the time of 44.12. With this time he broke the previous GLVC record of 44.16. Right behind him was Keith Sponsler<\/strong> of Missouri S&T finished second with a 44.22. Sponsor’s teammate Jonathan Glaser<\/strong> came in third (44.47).<\/p>\n

Truman’s Hannah Nicks<\/strong> went a 2:02.21 for the fastest time of the morning in the women’s 200 backstroke. Agnieszka Malecka<\/strong> of UINDY came in second with a 2:03.10 and Truman’s Emma Barnett<\/strong> finished third (2:03.91).<\/p>\n

Mads Knoblauch<\/strong> of Lewis placed first this morning the men’s 100 backstroke in the time of 1:47.73. Ramiro Olivares<\/strong> of Drury came in second with a 1:48.04 and UINDY’s Rodrigo Codo Berti<\/strong> came in third (1:49.91).<\/p>\n

Sophia Nelson<\/strong> went a 2:18.67 in the women’s 200 breaststroke this morning to be seeded first going into tonight’s finals. Karolina Szymaszek<\/strong> of UINDY touched second with a 2:20.18 and Lewis’ Montana Clasby<\/strong> went a 2:21.21 for third.<\/p>\n

Miguel Chavez<\/strong> of Missouri S&T, who won the 100 breaststroke last night, had the fasted time of the morning in the men’s 200 breast. He went a 1:57.08 breaking his own 2015 GLVC record of 1:57.80. Jesus Flores<\/strong> from Drury finished second with a 1:59.21 and his teammate Andrea Bazzoli<\/strong> came in third (1:59.66).<\/p>\n

Later today the men’s and women’s 1650 will be swum as a finals only event.<\/p>\n
