Wingate actually out swam Queens from a numbers standpoint as they will have more swimmers competing tonight. But, it will not matter because Queens has built too big of a lead for anyone to penetrate. Not all the Queens swimmers are rested and they are still setting NCAA records, so it will be scary to think how fast they will be in a few weeks at the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n<p>On the women&#8217;s side, <strong>Caroline Arakelian<\/strong> of Queens touched first to lead the prelims of the 200 back with a 1:58.66 ahead of Wingate&#8217;s <strong>Viktoriya Arkhipova<\/strong> at 1:59.36. 2-time champ in this meet, <strong>Hannah Peiffer<\/strong> of Queens is third at 2:02.56.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Patricia Castro Ortega<\/strong> of Queens will be chasing another NCAA record in the 100 free tonight. She has already broken the 200 free, 500 free and 400 IM record in this meet and will be gunning for the 48.92 she set last year. Castro Ortega went 49.84 this morning. <strong>Margaret Stansberry<\/strong> of Carson Newman is second at 50.27 and Queens&#8217; <strong>Shelly Prayson<\/strong> is third at 50.95.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Brittney Phelan<\/strong> of Queens leads the 200 breast field with a 2:14.97. She set a new meet record that was held by <strong>Olga Kosheleva<\/strong> at 2:16.39 from 2014. Wingate&#8217;s <strong>Jessika Weiss<\/strong> is within striking distance in second at 2:17.63 and her teammate Kosheleva is third at 2:17.88. Any one of those girls could come away with a win in that event tonight.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s 200 fly, <strong>Sofia Petrenko<\/strong> of Wingate is leading the field with a 2:00.78. She is followed closely by <strong>Josephina Lorda<\/strong> of Queens at 2:02.21 and <strong>Lexy Raybon<\/strong> of Carson Newman is third at 2:04.41.<\/p>\n<p>On the men&#8217;s side of the meet, <strong>Zach Phelps<\/strong> of Queens continued his backstroke dominance with a 1:45.04 to lead the heats of the 200 back. <strong>Leif-Henning Kluever<\/strong> of Wingate is second at 1:48.05 and <strong>Ben Taylor<\/strong> of Queens is third at 1:49.60. Phelps could chase the 1:43.44 meet record held by Matt Josa from 2014.<\/p>\n<p>A day after setting an NCAA record in the 200 free, <strong>Dion Dreesens<\/strong> had a casual 44.23 100 free to lead the qualifiers. <strong>Ben Mayes<\/strong> of Queens is second at 45.02 and <strong>Lennart Queiss<\/strong> is second at 45.03. Dreesens could gun for the 42.61 NCAA record held by <strong>Andrey Seryy<\/strong> of Wayne State from 2012.<\/p>\n<p>In the men&#8217;s 200 breast, it was <strong>Rost Fedyna<\/strong> who set the pace to lead the field at 1:58.13. <strong>Inigo Alarcia<\/strong> of Queens is second at 2:00.48 and <strong>Kristofers Pone<\/strong>\u00a0of Limestone is third at 2:00.59.<\/p>\n<p>The final individual event of the night could be an exciting one as <strong>Nate Dacruz<\/strong> of Queens is seeded first at 1:50.58.
