Friday’s prelims races at the America East Conference Championships featured three races: the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley and 50-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n

New Hampshire got off to a hot start in the 500-yard freestyle heats. The Wildcats took the top three spots in the preliminary races.\u00a0Jess Harper\u00a0<\/strong>was first with a time of 4:49.63 and\u00a0Brittany Driscoll\u00a0<\/strong>touched second in 4:54.45.\u00a0Brittany Moffatt\u00a0<\/strong>followed her two teammates with a time of 4:54.91.<\/p>\n

In the 200-yard individual medley, it was University of Maryland, Baltimore County that took the top three spots.\u00a0Emily Escobedo\u00a0<\/strong>led the way with\u00a01:57.03.\u00a0Kayla Lilly\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Laura Massicotte\u00a0<\/strong>followed.<\/p>\n

New Hampshire’s\u00a0Liza Baykova\u00a0<\/strong>took the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.32.\u00a0Sarah Mantz\u00a0<\/strong>of Vermont and\u00a0Kristie Langford\u00a0<\/strong>of Maryland, Baltimore County tied for second with a time of 23.71.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s finals will include the same three individual events, along with the 200-yard freestyle relay.<\/p>\n

\nMaine: 86
\nBinghamton: 61<\/p>\n
