This morning of day three at the Great Lakes Valley Athletic Conference Championships the prelims for the men’s and women’s 500 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 200 butterfly were swam. Zuzanna Chwadeczko<\/strong>\u00a0of Drury broke the women’s 100 breaststroke record.<\/p>\n

Nikki Sission<\/strong> of Truman started off with the fastest women’s 500 freestyle time this morning with a 4:49.98. Sission was the winner of last night’s 200 freestyle as well. Behind Sission was two swimmers from Drury. Laura Brasier<\/strong> came in with the second fasted time of a 5:01.37 and Sarah Pullen<\/strong>, the winner of the 1000 free, came in third with a 5:02.22.<\/p>\n

Drury’s Alex Reinbrecht<\/strong> touched the wall first this morning in the men’s 500 freestyle with a 4:27.34. Missouri S&T’s Jonathan Glaser<\/strong> came in second (4:29.03) and close behind him was UINDY’s Vitor Botana<\/strong> who finished third in a 4:29.25.<\/p>\n

In the women’s 100 backstroke this morning Truman State had the top three fastest times. Evyn Spencer<\/strong> got to the wall first in the time of 55.77. Her teammates Hannah Nicks<\/strong> came in second (56.25) and Alison Strickler<\/strong> touched in third with a 56.41.<\/p>\n

Ramiro Olivares<\/strong> of Drury came in first in the men’s 100 backstroke this morning in a 49.37. Close behind him was Missouri-SL’s Diogo Dias<\/strong> who got second with a 49.62 and Drury’s Aidan Glynn<\/strong> touched the wall third (50.22).<\/p>\n

Chwadeczko<\/strong> came in first this morning in the women’s 100 breastroke for Drury. She went a 1:01.92 and with this time she broke the previous GLVC record set in 2014 of 1:02.42. UINDY came in second and third in the event. Michelle Mikaelsson<\/strong> finished second with a 1:05.35 and her teammate Karolina Szymaszek<\/strong> came in for a close third with a 1:05.44.<\/p>\n

Missouri S&T’s\u00a0Miguel Chavez<\/strong> had the fasted time in the men’s 100 breastroke this morning with a 54.72.\u00a0Bartosz\u00a0<\/strong>Zarzecki<\/b> touched the wall second with a 54.82 and Drury’s\u00a0Andrea Bazzoli\u00a0<\/strong>finished in third (54.94).<\/p>\n

Ashley Sturman<\/strong> from Drury finished fastest this morning in the women’s 200 butterfly with the time of 2:06.50. William Jewell’s Haley Ramsey<\/strong> finished right behind Sturman for second in a 2:06.68 and Drury’s Gretchen Stein<\/strong>, and winner of the 400 IM,\u00a0came touched third (2:06.91).<\/p>\n

In the men’s 200 butterfly this morning, Truman’s Will Shanel<\/strong> had the fastest time going a 1:48.77. David Wong<\/strong> of Drury, who was entered without a time, swam into second place with the time of 1:49.63. Caleb Hathaway<\/strong> of Missouri S&T touched third (1:50.16).<\/p>\n
