After one day of\u00a0the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, the Wheaton women and Rose-Hulman men stand atop the team standings.<\/p>\n
On the women’s side, Wheaton leads with 263 points. Carthage is in second. Rose-Hulman has 300 points on the men’s side, and Carthage is in second.<\/p>\n
The evening started with the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay. The Wheaton team of\u00a0Sarah Coley, Hannah Rueger, Sarah Oldach\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Kirsty Nitz\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 1:35.44 to win by over two seconds. Carthage won the men’s race by only three-hundredths of a second over Rose-Hulman. The team of\u00a0James Weslaski, James Hasbrouck, Chris Russo\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Lee Hollman\u00a0<\/strong>touched first in 1:22.92.<\/p>\n In the women’s 500-yard freestyle relay, Illinois-Wesleyan captured the top two spots.\u00a0Meg Stanley\u00a0<\/strong>finished in first with a time of 4:55.17 and\u00a0Lauren Dineen-Griffin\u00a0<\/strong>was second with a time of 5:01.18. Carthage’s\u00a0Hannah Skendziel\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 5:15.33.<\/p>\n On the men’s side, Wheaton swimmers took first and third place.\u00a0Will McCauley\u00a0<\/strong>won in 4:32.08, Rose-Hulman’s\u00a0Paul Hintz\u00a0<\/strong>was second with a time of 4:41.47 and\u00a0Daniel Deysher\u00a0<\/strong>was third, touching in 4:41.71.<\/p>\n The Wheaton women were dominant in the 200-yard individual medley, taking the top three spots.\u00a0Katie Deysher\u00a0<\/strong>took first in 2:06.03,\u00a0Erin Bagley\u00a0<\/strong>was second and\u00a0Kayla Roberson\u00a0<\/strong>was third.<\/p>\n Augustana’s\u00a0Jared Ekberg\u00a0<\/strong>took first in the men’s 200-yard individual medley. The freshman posted a time of 1:51.67. Weslaski was second and Wheaton’s\u00a0Chris Szymczak\u00a0<\/strong>was third.<\/p>\n Illinois-Wesleyan had a strong showing in the 50-yard freestyle. The school had individual swimmers take first and third place.\u00a0Kirsten Slaughter\u00a0<\/strong>won in 23.33 and Lisa Cheng<\/strong> was third in 24.26.\u00a0Ellie Hong\u00a0<\/strong>of Rose-Hulman was second.<\/p>\n In the men’s race, Wheaton’s\u00a0Jack O’Connor\u00a0<\/strong>brought home the win in 20.51. Illinois-Wesleyan’s\u00a0Vic Lugg\u00a0<\/strong>was second and Rose-Hulman’s\u00a0Pierce Bartine\u00a0<\/strong>touched third.<\/p>\n The night ended with the men’s and women’s 400-yard medley relay. Wheaton won the women’s race by over 11 seconds, posting a time of 3:45.39. In the men’s race, Wheaton was also victorious.
