This morning was the start of day two of the Great Lakes Valley Athletics Conference Championships. In the prelims session the men’s and women’s 400 IM, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle were swum. Truman’s Evyn Spencer<\/strong> broke the women’s 100 butterfly GLVC record.<\/p>\n

In the women’s 400 IM this morning Drury’s Gretchen Stein<\/strong>\u00a0placed first the event in a time of 4:28.31. Lewis’s Caitlin Krull<\/strong> came in second (4:31.20) and Agnieszka Malecka<\/strong> finished in third (4:31.99).<\/p>\n

In the men’s 400 IM Truman’s Will Shanel<\/strong> touched in first far ahead of his other GLVC competitors with a time of 3:52.48. Quinn Poti<\/strong> of Lewis came in second (4:01.02) and right behind him was UINDY’s George Oancea<\/strong> with the time of 4:01.26.<\/p>\n

Last night’s 200 IM winner, Evyn Spencer is going into tonight’s 100 butterfly seeded first in the time of 54.54. With this time, Spencer also broke the GLVC record of 54.68. Drury’s Vera Johansson<\/strong> came in second in a 55.23 and Paige Meredith<\/strong> touched in at a 55.80 for third place.<\/p>\n

To make it into the top eight at finals tonight in the men’s 100 butterfly you gad to go under 50 seconds. Stanislav Kuzmin<\/strong> from Drury got to the wall first in the close event with the time of 49.37. Missouri S&T took second and third place this morning. Eirik Nielsen<\/strong> touched second in a 49.42 and Ethan Shih<\/strong> came in third (49.52).<\/p>\n

Nikki Sisson<\/strong> from Truman is going into tonight seeded first in the women’s 200 freestyle with the time of 1:51.09. Current RMAC record holder, Wen Xu<\/strong> of Drury touched in second with a 1:52.61 and right behind her is Shannon Sullivan<\/strong> from Lewis for third (1:52.67)<\/p>\n

In the men’s 200 freestlye, Drury’s Daniel Rzadkowski<\/strong>\u00a0is going into finals tonight seeded first in the event with a time of 1:37.38. Missouri S&T took second and third place with Keith Sponsler<\/strong> coming in second (1:38.42) and teammate, Jonathan Glaser<\/strong> right behind him for third (1:38.59).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
