SYDNEY, Oct 9 (Reuters) – AUSTRALIAN triple gold medalist Ian Thorpe, 17, is flying to New York hoping to appear in the sitcom, "Friends."<\/p>\n
According to Thorpe's manager, Dave Flaskas, Australian model Elle Macpherson, who has appeared in a cameo role in the sitcom, has offered to help the swimmer achieve his acting goal. Flaskas said Thorpe and fellow Aussie gold medlaists Michael Klim and Grant Hackett would visit the United States this week.<\/p>\n
