That swim destroyed\u00a0<strong>Campbell Costley<\/strong>&#8216;s\u00a0meet record (16:43.71) and is only eight seconds off of\u00a0<strong>Sarah Thompson<\/strong>&#8216;s NCAA Division 3 record (16:21.44).\u00a0<strong>Marysol Arce\u00a0<\/strong>of Kenyon placed second in 16:42.73. Costley out touched teammate\u00a0<strong>Taylor Johns\u00a0<\/strong>to finish third in 16:58.39.<\/p>\n<p>Kenyon&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Delaney Ambrosen\u00a0<\/strong>was just off her morning swim to capture the 200 backstroke with a 2:02.27. Teammate\u00a0<strong>Caitlin Foley\u00a0<\/strong>finished third (2:05.15), right behind DePauw&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kirsten Olson\u00a0<\/strong>(2:05.03).<\/p>\n<p>Senior\u00a0<strong>Hannah Lobb\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall for Kenyon in the 100 freestyle with a 50.63. Denison duo\u00a0<strong>Carolyn Kane\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Mary Van Leuven\u00a0<\/strong>touched second and third in 50.84 and 50.91.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julia Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>went three for three on Conference Titles this weekend, lowering her own pool and meet records in the 200 breaststroke. The sophomore&#8217;s 2:14.90 was well ahead of another Denison duo.\u00a0<strong>Marissa Bednarek\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Marisa Pulaski\u00a0<\/strong>finished at 2:18.23 and 2:18.45 to round out the top three.<\/p>\n<p>Denison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hali Garza\u00a0<\/strong>defended her title and lowered her own pool record with a 2:02.40 200 butterfly.\u00a0<strong>Mariah Williamson\u00a0<\/strong>of Kenyon finished not far behind in second (2:03.34) while third went to\u00a0<strong>Emily Eben\u00a0<\/strong>of Denison (2:06.88).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maria Zarka\u00a0<\/strong>swept the diving titles this weekend, scoring 483.25 on the three meter board. Denison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emma Weber\u00a0<\/strong>earned 407.55 points.\u00a0<strong>Katie Black\u00a0<\/strong>of Wittenberg finished third with 384.70 points.<\/p>\n<p>The Denison women put up one last valiant effort in the 400 freestyle relay. Kane,\u00a0<strong>Ashley Yearwood<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Kate Wright<\/strong>, and Van Leuven won the event in a 3:22.65, for a new pool and meet record. Kenyon&#8217;s Lobb,\u00a0<strong>Abby Wilson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Haley Townsend<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Jenner McLeod\u00a0<\/strong>finished second (3:24.56).\u00a0<strong>Samma Regan<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jillian Sarazen<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nora Cooper<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Maddie Prangley\u00a0<\/strong>earned third for Oberlin in a time of 3:34.67.<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s Meet:<\/h2>\n<p>The 1650 was a tight race between Kenyon&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>David Perez\u00a0<\/strong>and Denison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Ben Burdick<\/strong>. Perez got to the wall first, finishing in 15:44.06 to Burdick&#8217;s 15:47.82.\u00a0<strong>Matthew Hedman\u00a0<\/strong>of Denison finished third (15:54.11).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jack Lindell\u00a0<\/strong>of Denison topped the podium in the 200 backstroke (1:47.89). His teammate\u00a0<strong>Jason Wesseling\u00a0<\/strong>touched third (1:51.63).\u00a0<strong>Conner Gelwicks\u00a0<\/strong>finished second (1:49.90) for Wooster.<\/p>\n<p>The nine man championship final of the 100 freestyle was separated by less than a second. It was down to the finish for the top three. By four hundredths, the title went to\u00a0<strong>Joey Duronio\u00a0<\/strong>of Kenyon (45.08). Denison seniors\u00a0<strong>Ryan Fleming<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Conrad Wuorinen\u00a0<\/strong>swam 45.12 and 45.19. Seven men in this final were seniors, so things should look quite different next season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zechariah Banks\u00a0<\/strong>swept the breaststroke titles this year. The Wabash senior stopped the clock at 2:01.59. Kenyon&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Danny Jurgens\u00a0<\/strong>finished second (2:02.97).\u00a0<strong>Sam McManus\u00a0<\/strong>of DePauw was third (2:03.40).<\/p>\n<p>Kenyon freshman\u00a0<strong>Jon Zimdars\u00a0<\/strong>got to the wall first in the 200 butterfly (1:49.56). Big Red teammates\u00a0<strong>Mitch Williams\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Andrew Rich\u00a0<\/strong>finished second and third with times of 1:49.87 and 1:50.85.<\/p>\n<p>The final event was just as close as expected. Denison finished in a time of 2:59.28, just ahead of Kenyon&#8217;s 2:59.76 in the 400 freestyle relay.\u00a0<strong>Stuart Hohm<\/strong>, Fleming,\u00a0<strong>Max Howes<\/strong>, and Wuorinen won it for the Big Red while\u00a0Duronio,\u00a0<strong>Ryan Funk<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Percy Gates<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Alex Seaver\u00a0<\/strong>competed for the Lords.
