Two pool records and one meet record fell this morning.<\/p>\n<h2>Women&#8217;s Meet<\/h2>\n<p>The Kenyon women took the top 200 medley relay spot by a wide margin.\u00a0<strong>Caitlin Foley<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Katie Kaestner<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Laura Duncan<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Hannah Orbach-Mandel\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 1:45.73. Wittenberg&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Erin Swardenski<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Madeline Kraft<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Amy Schulz<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Dani Lacy\u00a0<\/strong>followed (1:48.35).\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Kane<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Ellen Higdon<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Erin Hudson<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Ashley Yearwood\u00a0<\/strong>swam a 1:48.69 to earn the third seed for Denison.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marysol Arce<\/strong> of Kenyon set the Denison pool record in the 400 IM, posting a quick 4:23.76. Her teammate <strong>Mariah Williamson\u00a0<\/strong>finished third (4:27.93).\u00a0Fresh off her Conference Title in the 500 freestyle last night, <strong>Angela Newlon<\/strong> touched second (4:26.22).<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<strong>Carolyn Kane\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in the 100 butterfly in a B cut time of 56.18, Kenyon took the second through sixth seeds, in what should be a huge event for the Ladies tonight.\u00a0<strong>Haley Townsend\u00a0<\/strong>(57.26) touched just ahead of teammate\u00a0<strong>Natalie Parker\u00a0<\/strong>(57.46).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Campbell Costley\u00a0<\/strong>of Denison earned the top seed in the 200 freestyle (1:51.14). Kenyon&#8217;s Orbach-Mandel touched second (1:51.87), just a hair ahead of teammate\u00a0<strong>Abby Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>(1:51.88). The top eight earned the B cut this morning. Denison and Kenyon each hold four lanes in tonight&#8217;s Championship Final.<\/p>\n<p>Kenyon&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Julia Wilson\u00a0<\/strong>finished the 100 breaststroke in a 1:02.08, under the pool and meet records (1:02.19 and 1:02.91). Her teammate Kaestner claimed the third seed (1:03.42). Denison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Marissa Bednarek\u00a0<\/strong>was second (1:03.42).<\/p>\n<p>Kenyon got four swimmers into the Championship Final of the 100 backstroke, to Denison&#8217;s two. Big Red&#8217;s\u00a0Yearwood finished first (56.94), while freshmen Ladies<strong> Abby Chopp\u00a0<\/strong>and Wilson touched in 57.26 and 57.73.<\/p>\n<p>The 800 freestyle relay will also be swum tonight.<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s Meet<\/h2>\n<p>In morning relay action the DePauw men&#8217;s 200 medley relay team of\u00a0<strong>Blake Lehmann<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mitchell Davis<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Brandon Sholtis<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Matt Oonk<\/strong> claimed the top spot with a time of 1:32.09. Kenyon&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Oscar Anderson<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Danny Jurgens<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Christian Josephson<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Austin Pu\u00a0<\/strong>were second (1:32.15). While the DePauw B team finished third, it will be the Denison squad of\u00a0<strong>Jason Wessleing<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jake Ball<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Andrew Rich<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Brendan Howley\u00a0<\/strong>with the third seed in finals this evening.<\/p>\n<p>The top seven finishers in the 400 IM represented Denison and Kenyon. The Big Red&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack Lindell\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the top seed for this evening&#8217;s finals (3:56.78). He was followed by two Lords,\u00a0<strong>Matt Leenhouts\u00a0<\/strong>(3:57.22) and\u00a0<strong>Mark Newell\u00a0<\/strong>(3:59.61).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryan Funk\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in the 100 butterfly this morning (48.41), not far from the pool record (48.62). DePauw&#8217;s\u00a0Lehmann<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>was second (48.86) and Denison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Kenny Fox\u00a0<\/strong>(48.87) was another hundredth behind.<\/p>\n<p>Denison holds six of the top nine spots in the 200 freestyle relay. Teammates\u00a0<strong>Ryan Fleming\u00a0<\/strong>(1:38.56),\u00a0<strong>Stuart Hohm\u00a0<\/strong>(1:38.80) and\u00a0<strong>Joe Brunk\u00a0<\/strong>(1:38.97) will hold the middle lanes this evening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zechariah Banks\u00a0<\/strong>of Wabash swam an impressive 55.00 100 breaststroke this morning. The senior is now less than half a second from the pool and meet records (54.66).
