TYR Sport<\/a> is proud to announce the signing of 4X\u00a0Olympic Gold Medalist Dana Vollmer<\/strong> to its roster of sponsored athletes.<\/p>\n

At just twelve years old Dana began her quest for Olympic success as the youngest swimmer to\u00a0compete in the 2000 Olympic trials. In 2004, her dream became a reality when she earned her\u00a0first Olympic gold medal as a member of the 4x200m free relay in Athens. Making history, she\u00a0and her teammates swam fast enough to break the seventeen-year-old\u00a0world record. In 2012\u00a0she was at it again, this time winning three gold medals and setting two world records at the\u00a0London Olympic Games. It was here that Dana became the first woman to ever swim the 100m butterfly in under 56 seconds.<\/p>\n

Having become a mother less than a year ago, Dana is more motivated than ever to once again\u00a0leave her mark on the world\u2019s stage. Taking home the gold in the 100m butterfly at winter\u00a0nationals, this TYR athlete is a \u201cmomma on a mission\u201d<\/em> and Omaha is where she\u2019s headed.<\/p>\n

However, the road to success has been far from easy for team TYR\u2019s newest champion. With\u00a0her fair share of injuries and a late diagnosis of food allergies, she continues to fight for every\u00a0medal she earns. Priding herself on an ability to maintain a positive outlook, Dana refuses to let\u00a0any hardship, large or small, deter her from her ultimate goal. In the past, she has worked with\u00a0the American Heart Association to raise awareness about heart conditions in both women and\u00a0children, and she has proudly spoken at events regarding food allergy research & education.<\/p>\n
