Some of Bates&#8217; quick swims bode well for next weekend&#8217;s NESCAC Women&#8217;s Championship.<\/p>\n<h2>Women&#8217;s Meet<\/h2>\n<p>The Bates women were dominant, winning the majority of the events. The team of\u00a0<strong>Emma Lammers<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mandy Mele<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Catherine Mullen<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Whitney Paine\u00a0<\/strong>set the tone, posting the top time in the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.21). Teammate\u00a0<strong>Logan Hope\u00a0<\/strong>was first to the wall in the 200 IM (2:10.90). In the 100 breaststroke\u00a0<strong>Kirsty Prelgovisk\u00a0<\/strong>touched first (1:07.08), and teammate\u00a0<strong>Sara Daher\u00a0<\/strong>was just behind (1:07.29).<\/p>\n<p>Bates teammates were also the top two finishers in the 200 backstroke. Lammers (2:16.22) was first and\u00a0<strong>Nell Houde\u00a0<\/strong>(2:18.70) was second.\u00a0<strong>Logan McGill\u00a0<\/strong>was impressive in the 100 freestyle, stopping the clock at 53.31. <strong>Lindsey Prelgovisk<\/strong>\u00a0posted an impressive 1:53.87 in the 200 freestyle.\u00a0<strong>Lucy Faust\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 butterfly (59.68). In the 100 backstroke, Houde was first to the wall (1:06.03).<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>The Bobcat also touched first in the 50 freestyle (27.56).\u00a0Paine made the most of a time trial and her final swim at home, breaking the pool record in the 100 backstroke (57.29).<\/p>\n<p>St. Joseph&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Lauren Halvorsen\u00a0<\/strong>was the top finisher in the 500 freestyle (5:50.78). University of New England was the lone team in the 200 medley relay.\u00a0<strong>Kayla Burgess<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Lindsey Thomsen<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nicole Robitaille<\/strong>,\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Eleni Bautz\u00a0<\/strong>touched in 1:56.51.<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s Meet<\/h2>\n<p>The Bates men were as dominant as their female teammates. The B squad of\u00a0<strong>Ben Sommer<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Hikaru Asao<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Drew Beland<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Zach Antonio\u00a0<\/strong>touched first in the 200 freestyle relay (1:32.01). Sommer, <strong>Alex Bednard<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Theodore Pender<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Mike Connolly\u00a0<\/strong>combined to top the 200 medley relay (1:35.88) later in the meet.\u00a0<strong>Rory Collins\u00a0<\/strong>won the 500 freestyle by 15 seconds (4:55.75). Teammate Connolly\u00a0won the 100 freestyle (48.47), while\u00a0<strong>Chase Lis\u00a0<\/strong>touched first in the 200 butterfly (2:01.14). Beland\u00a0swam alone, but finished the 400 IM in a time of 4:27.27.<\/p>\n<p>Bedard dominated the 200 freestyle, finishing in a time of 1:46.82. Pender recorded an individual win in the 100 butterfly (52.10), while Sommer was victorious in the 100 backstroke (53.08). Other wins for the Bobcats came from Connolloy in the 50 freestyle (22.16), and\u00a0<strong>Spencer Daus-Haberle<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jack Dina<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Christopher Lee<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Zach Collester\u00a0<\/strong>in the 400 freestyle relay (3:21.69).\u00a0In a 50 breaststroke time trial,\u00a0Pender<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>posted a swift 26.30. Teammate\u00a0Bedard<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>broke the school record in his 100 IM time trial (52.79).<\/p>\n<p>Bowdoin&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>John Lagasse\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock at 1:00.37 to win the 100 breaststroke.
