IRVINE, California, May 24. THE second night of swimming at the Speedo Grand Challenge came to a close with a variety of meet records.<\/p>\n
Dominik Meichtry blasted the men's 200 free meet record with a time of 1:47.72, knocking out the 1:49.50 set by David Carry a year ago. Larsen Jensen finished second in 1:50.58, while Klete Keller (1:51.70) and Miguel Molina (1:53.99) topped the four-person finale format.<\/p>\n
In the women's 200 free, 16-year-old Lynette Lim touched out Courtney Monsees, 2:02.33 to 2:02.57, while Liv Jensen (2:03.63) and Rachael Waller (2:05.65) comprised the rest of the top four.<\/p>\n
Tamas Kerekjarto snagged the men's 400 IM title in 4:19.94 while also wiping out the meet record of 4:21.19 set by Ous Mellouli in 2005. Vanni Mangoni finished second in 4:24.33, while Charlie Rimkus (4:26.02) and Meir Hasbani (4:31.13) placed third and fourth.<\/p>\n
On the women's side of the longer distance medley, Lyndsay DePaul won in 4:49.23, while Andrea Kropp placed second in 4:53.17. Blakeley Bunch (4:53.57) and Rebecca Soni (4:53.91) made up the rest of the championship heat.<\/p>\n
Eddie Erazo secured the title in the men's 100 fly with a time of 54.02, while Bryce Elser (54.57) and Ankur Poseria (54.74) both finished in the 54s. Peter Davis took fourth in 55.02.<\/p>\n
Brooke Bishop followed in the women's 100 fly with a winning readout of 59.94, while Jessica Hardy finished second in 1:00.85 as she continued to shine in off events this weekend. Yumi So (1:02.16) and Megan Fischer-Colbrie (1:02.28) rounded out the top four.<\/p>\n
In the men's 200 back, Peter Marshall topped the field with a time of 2:03.55, while James Martin placed second in 2:04.42. Justin Carter (2:08.71) and Nic Trowbridge (2:12.52) went three-four in the event.<\/p>\n
Stephanie Wei, 16, took the women's 200 back in 2;17.48, while Samantha Pearson (2:19.31), Ashley Vrieze (2:20.83) and Annika Games (2:24.37) comprised the rest of the finale.<\/p>\n
Jensen ended the night in the men's 400 free with a meet-record time of 3:50.08. He eclipsed the 3:50.73 set by David Carry last year. Keller finished second in 3:56.00, while Chad La Tourette (3:57.33) and Rimkus (3:59.99) completed the top four.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
