Florida (No. 3 men, No. 9 women) knocked off Southeastern Conference rival Tennessee (No. 12 men, No. 13 women) on Saturday. The Gator men won 185-115 and the women knocked off the Volunteers 170-130.<\/p>\n

The day started off well for Tennessee. The Volunteers too the top two spots on the women’s 200-yard medley relay. The team of backstroker\u00a0Kira Toussaint,\u00a0<\/strong>breaststroker\u00a0Colleen Callahan<\/strong>, butterflier\u00a0Madeline Banic<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/strong>freestyler\u00a0Faith Johnson\u00a0<\/strong>won with a time of 1:40.13.<\/p>\n

Florida took the men’s race by four-hundredths of a second. The Gator team of backstroker\u00a0Jack Blyzinskyj,\u00a0<\/strong>breaststroker\u00a0Mark Szaranek<\/strong>, butterflier\u00a0Jan Switkowski\u00a0<\/strong>and freestyler\u00a0Caeleb Dressel\u00a0<\/strong>posted a winning time of 1:26.27.<\/p>\n

Dressel picked up three event wins on the day. The U.S. National Team member\u00a0won the 100-yard breaststroke (53.07), 50-yard freestyle (19.41) and 200-yard individual medley (1:46.40).<\/p>\n

Florida’s\u00a0Natalie Hinds\u00a0<\/strong>had another big meet. The 22-year-old won the 50-yard freestyle (22.48), 100-yard freestyle (48.72) and finished second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of\u00a054.07.<\/p>\n

Senior\u00a0Sean Lehane\u00a0<\/strong>remained undefeated in the 200-yard backstroke on the year. The U.S. National team member posted a time of 1:42.04. Banic had a strong day for the Volunteer women, finishing first on two relays and also taking the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.74. She also took third in the 50-yard freestyle.<\/p>\n

The Volunteer women took the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:19.92. The team consisted of\u00a0Micah Bohon, Harper Bruens,\u00a0<\/strong>Banic and Johnson.<\/p>\n

Florida took the men’s relay.\u00a0Enzo Martinez-Scarpe,\u00a0<\/strong>Szaranek,\u00a0Pawel Werner\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Corey Main\u00a0<\/strong>posted a time of 2:56.65.<\/p>\n

Tennessee and Florida both compete next at SEC Championships in\u00a0Columbia, Missouri.<\/p>\n

“We saw some good things out of our men’s and women’s teams today,” Florida coach Gregg Troy\u00a0<\/strong>said in a press release.\u00a0“We finished well in close races and put up good performances across the board.”<\/p>\n
