The Tar Heel women beat the Blue Devils 179-121, while the men beat Duke 156-142.<\/p>\n<p>Both the Blue Devil women (1:37.91) and men (1:29.03) started off the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hellen Moffitt<\/strong>\u00a0was a triple event winner. Moffitt won the women&#8217;s 100 back (54.16) and 200 back (1:57.54), as well as the 100 fly (53.29), establishing a new pool record.<\/p>\n<p>Duke&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Verity Abel<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 1000 (10:00.47) and 500 free (4:52.05).\u00a0Duke&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matt Johnson<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 1000 (9:08.00), breaking his own team record.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina swept the women&#8217;s 200 free, led by\u00a0<strong>Lauren Earp\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.05). They also swept the women&#8217;s 100 free, won by\u00a0<strong>Allyn\u00a0Hardesty\u00a0<\/strong>(50.10), and the\u00a0women&#8217;s 400 IM, led by\u00a0<strong>Kendall Surhoff\u00a0<\/strong>(4:19.80), which broke the\u00a0Taishoff\u00a0pool record.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mitch Deforest<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 200 free (1:39.03) and 500 free (4:30.24).\u00a0The Tar Heels&#8217;\u00a0<strong>Nic Graesser<\/strong>\u00a0broke the pool record in the men&#8217;s 100 back (48.40) and won the 200 back (1:47.92).<\/p>\n<p>Duke swept the men&#8217;s 100 breast, led by\u00a0<strong>Peter Kropp\u00a0<\/strong>(54.16). Kropp also won the 200 breast (2:01.64).\u00a0<strong>Rachel Canty<\/strong>\u00a0broke the pool record in the women&#8217;s 100 breast (1:01.68) and won the 200 breast (2:15.96) for North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>Duke&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Isa Paez<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 200 fly (1:59.81), while North Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Matthew Conway<\/strong>\u00a0won the men&#8217;s 200 fly (1:47.59).<\/p>\n<p>Duke&#8217;s <strong>Maddie Rusch<\/strong>\u00a0won the women&#8217;s 50 free (22.80), which set a new pool record.\u00a0Duke&#8217;s<strong> James Peek<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 50 free (20.23), while\u00a0North Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Logan Heck<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 100 free (44.85).<\/p>\n<p>Other North Carolina event winners included\u00a0<strong>Sam Lewis<\/strong>\u00a0in the men&#8217;s 100 fly (47.32) and\u00a0<strong>Eugene Tee<\/strong>\u00a0in the men&#8217;s 400 IM (3:58.08).
