The Tar Heels beat the Cavaliers 201.50-98.50. On the women&#8217;s side, No. 3 Virginia beat No. 12 NC State 154.50-145.50 and No. 14 North Carolina 178-122. NC State beat North Carolina 162-138.<\/p>\n<p>The meet began with the NC State women (1:38.99) just out\u00a0touching\u00a0Virginia in the women&#8217;s 200 medley relay. The Wolfpack men (1:27.05) won the men&#8217;s\u00a0event.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Leah Smith<\/strong> touched first in the women&#8217;s 1000 (9:34.21), and soon after took first in the 200 free (1:46.84). She won her third individual event by winning the 500 free (4:43.74).<\/p>\n<p>NC State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Anton Ipsen<\/strong> took first in the men&#8217;s 1000 (9:01.78) with teammate\u00a0<strong>Adam Linker<\/strong> taking second (9:10.01). Ipsen also took first in the 500 free (4:24.96), followed again by Linker (4:27.98).<\/p>\n<p>The Wolfpack also went 1-2 in the men&#8217;s 200 free, led by\u00a0<strong>Soren Dahl\u00a0<\/strong>(1:36.79) and\u00a0<strong>Simonas Bilis\u00a0<\/strong>(1:37.27). Dahl (1:49.05) later led the Wolfpack&#8217;s sweep in the men&#8217;s 200 IM.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Courtney Bartholomew<\/strong> took first in the women&#8217;s 100 back (52.64) and 200 back (1:54.84), while NC State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Hennessey Stuart<\/strong>\u00a0grabbed first in both the men&#8217;s 100 back (47.40)\u00a0and 200 back (1:43.91)<\/p>\n<p>Virgina&#8217;s <strong>Laura Simon<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 100 breast (1:00.90) and 200 breast (2:12.96).\u00a0Wolfpack&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Derek Hren\u00a0<\/strong>took first in the men&#8217;s 100 breast (54.41), just out touching Virginia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Yannick\u00a0<\/strong><b>Kaesser\u00a0<\/b>(54.46)<\/p>\n<p>Virginia&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jen Marrkand\u00a0<\/strong>touched\u00a0first in the women&#8217;s 200 fly (1:57.67) with teammate\u00a0<strong>Kaitlin Jones<\/strong> taking second (1:59.56). Jones later won the 200 IM (2:00.32).<\/p>\n<p>NC State swept\u00a0the women&#8217;s 50 free, led\u00a0by\u00a0<strong>Ashlyn Koletic<\/strong> (22.62),\u00a0<strong>Rike Bonnema\u00a0<\/strong>(22.78), and\u00a0<strong>Courtney Caldwell\u00a0<\/strong>(22.97), while teammate\u00a0<strong>Natalie Labonge\u00a0<\/strong>won the women&#8217;s 100 free (49.49).<\/p>\n<p>Only two people\u00a0went under the 20 second barrier in the men&#8217;s 50 free, won by\u00a0Bilis (19.62) and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Held<\/strong> (19.95). Held went on to dominate the 100 free (43.44), winning by well over a second.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina went 1-2 in the men&#8217;s 200 breast, led by\u00a0<strong>Michael McBryan<\/strong> (2:01.02).\u00a0The Tar Heels also\u00a0went 1-2 in the men&#8217;s 100 fly, led by\u00a0<strong>Sam Lewis<\/strong> (47.41).\u00a0<strong>Hellen Moffitt\u00a0<\/strong>won the women&#8217;s 100 fly (53.33), and\u00a0<strong>Christian McCurdy\u00a0<\/strong>took the men&#8217;s 200 fly\u00a0(1:46.16) for NC State.<\/p>\n<p>North Carolina&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Elissa Dawson<\/strong>\u00a0won the women&#8217;s 3m (353.75)\u00a0while\u00a0NC State&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Rachel Mumma\u00a0<\/strong>won the women&#8217;s 1m (312.95).\u00a0The Tar Heel&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Jack\u00a0Nyquist\u00a0<\/strong>won the men&#8217;s 3m diving event (399.45) with teammate\u00a0<strong>Ozzie Moyer<\/strong>\u00a0taking second (353.15).
