The No. 21 Missouri Tigers had a strong showing on their senior day. The Tigers defeated Vanderbilt by a score of 138-96. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Tigers started off strong, taking the top two spots in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of backstroker <\/span>Hannah Stevens, <\/b>breaststroker <\/span>Katharine Ross, <\/b>butterflier <\/span>Maddie Gehrke <\/b>and freestyler <\/span>Anna Patterson <\/b>posted a time of 1:41.39, nearly half a second ahead of the second place Missouri team. Vanderbilt\u2019s top team finished third with a time of 1:47.20. <\/span><\/p>\n

Kira Zubar <\/b>won the 200-yard freestyle for the Tigers with a time of 1:52.38. Vanderbilt\u2019s <\/span>Summer Brown <\/b>took second with a time of 1:52.73. <\/span><\/p>\n

Missouri\u2019s <\/span>Nadine Laemmler <\/b>picked up a win for the Tigers in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 56.33. <\/span>Abby Duncan <\/b>had a big swim for the Tigers in the 100-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 1:00.13. Duncan won the race by nearly five seconds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sharli Brady <\/b>picked up her first win of the day in the 200-yard butterfly. The Missouri sophomore posted a time of 2:00.32, beating Vanderbilt\u2019s <\/span>Breanna Sapienza <\/b>by over four seconds. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Tigers continued to role in the 50-yard freestyle. Missouri took first, second, third and fourth place in the race. Gehrke led the way, touching the wall in 23.67. <\/span><\/p>\n

Brady picked up another individual win in the 100-yard freestyle. She touched the wall in 52.04. Brown touched in second for the Commodores with a time of 53.02. <\/span><\/p>\n

Stevens touched first in the 200-yard backstroke. The U.S. National Team member touched the wall in 2:01.30, leading the Tigers to a 1-2-3 finish. Missouri also took the top three spots in the 200-yard breaststroke. <\/span>Katharine Ross <\/b>led the way, posting a time of 2:12.71. <\/span><\/p>\n

Missouri freshman <\/span>Aurore Jacolin <\/b>took the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:03.58. Vanderbilt\u2019s <\/span>Carrie Bencic <\/b>touched second in 5:11.47. <\/span>
\n<\/span>Erin Metzger-Seymour<\/b> continued the Missouri win streak with a win in the 100-yard butterfly. She touched in 55.33 to defeat Sapienza by seven-hundredths of a second. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the 200-yard individual medley, Missouri had its swimmers compete as exhibition. Vanderbilt\u2019s <\/span>Kara Lucenti <\/b>won with a time of 2:09.17, though the Tigers\u2019 <\/span>Miranda Mercke <\/b>posted the event\u2019s fastest time. Mercke touched the wall in 2:05.70.<\/span><\/p>\n

The same thing happened in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Vanderbilt won with a time of 3:34.23, but Missouri would have placed first had they not swam exhibition. The Tigers\u2019 team of Zubar, <\/span>Rachel Hayden, Victoria Trost <\/b>and <\/span>Courtney Evensen <\/b>posted a time of 3:29.21. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since Vanderbilt does not have a men\u2019s team, the No. 13 Missouri men did not have an official meet. However, the Tiger men held an intrasquad meet. <\/span>Michael Chadwick <\/b>continued to impress, posting a time of 43.14 in the 100-yard freestyle.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vanderbilt swims next against Marshall and North Florida on Saturday. Missouri is back in action tomorrow at the Tiger Invite. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
