WHEN swim coaches hit the proverbial brick wall with making their swimmers faster, Don Talbot is one of the people they call to get them over the hump. Talbot, a renowned author and coach of swimmers on at least three continents, talks in a <i>Swimming World Radio<\/i> interview found on page 35 of the May issue of <i>Swimming World Magazine<\/i> about the challenges he faces as a coaching consultant.<\/p>\n<p>Reinforcing technique is one challenge Talbot says he faces now because most coaches around the world are beginning to neglect technique, especially those working with elite swimmers. When determining some of the best technique around, Talbot watches the best swimmers in the world and shares his impressions with other coaches.<\/p>\n<p>Trying to prevent a coach from categorizing a young swimmer into a specific type of racer is another challenge Talbot said he faces.
