{"id":179675,"date":"2016-01-24T09:43:32","date_gmt":"2016-01-24T16:43:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=179675"},"modified":"2016-01-24T09:43:33","modified_gmt":"2016-01-24T16:43:33","slug":"rachael-kelly-danas-rapsys-down-meet-records-at-2016-speedo-flanders-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/rachael-kelly-danas-rapsys-down-meet-records-at-2016-speedo-flanders-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Rachael Kelly, Danas Rapsys Down Meet Records at 2016 Speedo Flanders Cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A pair of meet marks took a tumble on day two of the 2016 Speedo Flanders Cup as <strong>Rachael Kelly<\/strong> and<strong> Danas Rapsys<\/strong> both put up strong swims.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rachael Kelly<\/strong> set the meet record in the women&#8217;s 100-meter fly with a 57.74, just off her 11th-ranked 57.71 from last year&#8217;s British Championships. \u00a0She lowered the previous record of 57.90 by Inge Dekker back in 2007.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kristel Vourna<\/strong> finished second in 58.99 with <strong>Emilie Beckmann<\/strong> taking third in 59.82.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Danas Rapsys<\/strong> crushed his meet record in the men&#8217;s 200-meter back with a time of 1:56.72. That swim smashed his 1:58.04 set last year, and would have ranked him 14th in the world last year.\u00a0<strong>Lander Hendrickx<\/strong> (2:01.91) and <strong>Nils Van Audekerke<\/strong> (2:02.13) rounded out the podium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fran Halsall<\/strong> captured the women&#8217;s 50-meter free in 24.78. \u00a0<strong>Kim Busch<\/strong> (25.26) and <strong>Tamara van Vliet<\/strong> (25.50) rounded out the top three.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Magnus Jakupsson<\/strong> took home the men&#8217;s 50-meter back in 25.44 with <strong>Jonatan Kopelev<\/strong> placing second in 25.58. \u00a0<strong>Liam Tancock<\/strong> finished third in 25.64.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Imogen Clark<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 50-meter breast in 31.10. <strong>Katie Matts<\/strong> (32.41) and <strong>Ana Rodrigues<\/strong> (32.69) comprised the rest of the podium.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Georgina Boyle<\/strong> topped the women&#8217;s 200-meter free in 2:00.63, while <strong>Rebecca Turner<\/strong> tied <strong>Eleanor Faulkner<\/strong> for second with matching 2:00.83s.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deividas Margevicius<\/strong> claimed the men&#8217;s 50-meter fly in 24.25. \u00a0<strong>Adam Barrett<\/strong> took second in 24.36 with <strong>Dries Vangoetsenhoven<\/strong> earning third in 24.92.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Katie Matts<\/strong> led a Great Britain 1-2-3 in the women&#8217;s 200-meter breast with a 2:27.78. \u00a0<strong>Georgia Coates<\/strong> (2:30.93) and <strong>Emma Cain<\/strong> (2:31.76) placed second and third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vlad Mustafin<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 100-meter breast in a time of 1:00.64. \u00a0<strong>Andrius Sidlauskas<\/strong> (1:01.49) and <strong>Charlie Attwood<\/strong> (1:01.83) hit the wall second and third.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ranohon Amanova<\/strong> clinched the women&#8217;s 200-meter IM title in 2:12.53 with <strong>Aimee Willmott<\/strong> placing a second behind with a 2:13.53. \u00a0<strong>Wendy Van der Zanden<\/strong> placed third in 2:14.97.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jasper Aerents<\/strong> won the men&#8217;s 100-meter free in 49.21. <strong>Glenn Surgeloose<\/strong> finished second in 49.63 with <strong>Emmanuel Vanluchene<\/strong> winding up third in 50.01.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Holly Hibbott<\/strong> topped the women&#8217;s 400-meter free in 4:13.53. <strong>\u00a0Eleanor Faulkner<\/strong> took second in 4:13.88 with <strong>Aimee Willmott<\/strong> finishing third in with a 4:15.20.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joao Vital<\/strong> touched out <strong>Tristan Slater<\/strong>, 4:25.52 to 4:25.94, for the men&#8217;s 400-meter IM title. \u00a0<strong>Aleksey Derlyugov<\/strong> took third in 4:25.96.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Georgia Davies<\/strong> captured the women&#8217;s 100-meter back in 1:01.06. \u00a0<strong>Lauren Quigley<\/strong> placed second in 1:01.89 with <strong>Anna Maine<\/strong> taking third in 1:02.27.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Louis Croenen<\/strong> turned in a 1:58.82 to win the men&#8217;s 200-meter fly. \u00a0<strong>Stefanos Dimitriadis<\/strong> (1:59.20) and <strong>Miguel Nascimento<\/strong> (2:00.39) placed second and third.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/results\/2016-speedo-flanders-cup-day-2\/international-elite\/2016\/January\/23\" target=\"_blank\">2016 Speedo Flanders Cup: Day 2 &#8211; Results<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A pair of meet marks took a tumble on day two of the 2016 Speedo Flanders Cup as Rachael Kelly and Danas Rapsys both put up strong swims.
