The Crimson Tide men won 199-99, while the Alabama women downed the Yellow Jackets 191-106. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Georgia Tech women started off strong, taking the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.19, just four-hundredths of a second ahead of Alabama\u2019s top team. The Yellow Jackets relay consisted of backstroker <\/span><b>Maddie Paschal, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">breaststroker <\/span><b>Florin Ilie, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">butterflier <\/span><b>Laura Branton <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and freestyler <\/span><b>Iris Wang. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Crimson Tide took the men\u2019s race by over two seconds. The team of backstroker <\/span><b>Connor Oslin, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">breaststroker <\/span><b>Pavel Romanov, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">butterflier <\/span><b>Kristian Gkolomeev <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and freestyler <\/span><b>Alex Gray <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">touched in 1:27.26. Alabama\u2019s B relay finished second and Georgia Tech took third. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Mia Nonnenberg <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">led the way for the Alabama women, scoring 21 individual points. The sophomore placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:58.51) and the 400-yard individual medley (4:18.99). She also touched third in the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.04). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the men\u2019s side, <\/span><b>Laurent Bams <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">scored 18 points for the Crimson Tide. Bams, who joined the Alabama team in January, won the 100-yard freestyle (43.66) and 100-yard butterfly (47.69). <\/span><b>Brent Sagert <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also tallied 18 points for Alabama. The junior won both the 1-meter (312.50) and 3-meter (352.70) diving competitions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Shannon Lumbra <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was the leading scorer for the Yellow Jacket women. The senior placed first in the women\u2019s 1-meter (290.90) and 3-meter (293.60) diving competitions. Sophomore <\/span><b>Moises Loschi <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">set the pace for the Georgia Tech men, winning the 200-yard breaststroke (2:00.31) and touching second in the 100-yard event (55.77).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The day wrapped up with the 200-yard freestyle relay. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the women\u2019s race, Alabama swam all three of its relays as exhibition. Though the event win technically went to Georgia Tech, the Crimson Tide posted the race\u2019s fastest time. The team of <\/span><b>Temarie Tomley, Hannah Musser, Emma Saunders <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Justine Panian <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">touched in 1:33.81.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like in the women\u2019s race, the Crimson Tide posted the event\u2019s fastest time as an exhibition team. <\/span><b>Luke Kaliszak, Brett Walsh, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gray and Gkolomeev teamed up to post a 1:20.72, what would have won the race by over two seconds. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alabama is back in action on Feb. 16 at the Southeastern Conference Championships. <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 11 men, No. 22 women) had a strong showing against Georgia Tech to wrap up their regular season.
