Dana Vollmer began the evening with a victory in the women's 200 free when she clocked a 1:59.50 to claim a nearly two-second win over Erin Reilly (2:01.28). Larsen Jensen followed in the men's race with a similar margin of victory when he downed Zoltan Povazsay, 1:51.50 to 1:53.10.<\/p>\n
Rebecca Soni smashed her pool record with a time of 2:25.33 in the women's 200 breast. That time eclipsed her previous record of 2:27.10 set last year. John Criste then defeated Cheyne Bloch, 2:17.69 to 2:19.01, in the men's 200 breast.<\/p>\n
Another pool record tumbled as Hardy continued to show her versatility with a time of 24.88 in the women's 50 free. That time wiped out a nearly 20-year-old record of 25.61 set by Torres back in 1989. The swim also finished just shy of Torres' American standard of 24.53.<\/p>\n
Jason Lezak was equally as impressive in the men's 50 free. He clocked a time of 22.18 to lower his own 2003 pool standard of 22.48. He also finished a bit off the American record of 21.76 set by Gary Hall Jr. back in 2000.<\/p>\n
Lyndsay De Paul walked away with the women's 400 IM title in 4:51.48, while Fran Crippen snagged the men's 400 IM crown in 4:25.11.<\/p>\n
