Both the Stanford men and women handily took the meet from the Sun Devils, who put up a good fight, but were not able to keep pace with the two top-5 ranked teams.<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s Meet:<\/h2>\n<p>The meet started out with the 1000 free, where Stanford junior\u00a0<strong>Justin Buck<\/strong> took first with a 9:19.38. Sophomore teammate\u00a0<strong>Curtis Ogren<\/strong> snuck into second place (9:24.04), edging out Arizona State senior\u00a0<strong>Juan Tolosa<\/strong>, who took third (9:24.23). A team of\u00a0<strong>Ryan Dudzinski, Matt Anderson, Andrew Liang,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Sam Perry<\/strong> then rolled to a victory in the 400 medley relay (3:13.66), with Arizona State&#8217;s team of\u00a0<strong>Richard Bohus, Christian Lorenz, Tadas Dusinkas,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Patrick Park<\/strong> followed for second place (3:15.36).<\/p>\n<p>Stanford then kept Arizona State off the podium in the 200 free with a sweep of the event led by sophomore\u00a0<strong>Liam Egan<\/strong> (1:38.33) and completed by junior\u00a0<strong>Max Williamson<\/strong> (1:39.24), and junior\u00a0<strong>Jimmy Yoder\u00a0<\/strong>(1:39.89). Arizona State junior\u00a0<strong>Barkley Perry<\/strong> was the top finisher for the Sun Devils, in fourth, with a time of 1:39.93. Stanford junior\u00a0<strong>Spencer DeShon<\/strong> took the 50 free (20.47), out-touching Arizona State&#8217;s Dusinkas by just one one-hundredth of a second.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford also swept the 400 IM. Freshman\u00a0<strong>Abrahm DeVine<\/strong> led the charge with a 3:53.14 and was followed by teammates Ogren (3:53.98), and freshman\u00a0<strong>Jack Walsh<\/strong> (3:59.41).\u00a0Sun Devil senior\u00a0<strong>Kyle Sockwell<\/strong> finished fourth with a time of 4:04.15.<\/p>\n<p>Yoder then took the 200 fly (1:46.53), just edging out the sophomore Sun Devil Park (1:46.98).\u00a0The first of two Arizona State individual wins&#8211;besides the diving events&#8211;went to the junior Bohus in the 100 free (44.23). He was followed by Stanford&#8217;s sophomore Perry\u00a0(44.55). Arizona State&#8217;s Perry took the 200 back (1:46.64), almost a second ahead of Stanford sophomore\u00a0<strong>Patrick Conaton<\/strong> (1:47.50). The meet wrapped up with Stanford victories in the 500 free, won by Egan in a time of 4:27.12, the 200 breast, taken by the freshman Anderson (1:59.12), and the 400 free relay team of Perry,\u00a0<strong>Connor Black<\/strong>, DeShon, and\u00a0<strong>Cole Cogswell\u00a0<\/strong>(2:58.91).<\/p>\n<p>The final score was 157-83 with Arizona State sophomore\u00a0<strong>David Hoffer\u00a0<\/strong>taking the both diving boards.<\/p>\n<h2>Women&#8217;s Meet:<\/h2>\n<p>The Stanford women fared just as well as the men in their competition against the Sun Devils. The meet began with Stanford senior\u00a0<strong>Allison Brown<\/strong> posting the only sub-10 minute 1000 of the field (9:57.41). She was followed by freshman teammate\u00a0<strong>Leah Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>(10:02.34) and Arizona State junior\u00a0<strong>Anna Olasz\u00a0<\/strong>(10:14.76). A 400 medley relay team of\u00a0<strong>Janet Hu, Heidi Poppe, Lindsey Engel,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Julia Ama<\/strong> extended the lead with a time of 3:38.53.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona State junior\u00a0<strong>Kat Simonovic<\/strong> took the 200 free (1:49.70) and was closely followed by Stanford sophomore\u00a0<strong>Ally Howe\u00a0<\/strong>(1:49.76). Stanford swept the 50, with junior <strong>Leah Neal<\/strong> leading the charge to the wall (22.83), followed by sophomore Hu (22.84), and senior Ama (23.26). Another sweep for the Stanford women occurred in the 400 IM, which was won by freshman\u00a0<strong>Ella Eastin<\/strong> (4:09.01), over nine seconds ahead of freshman teammate\u00a0<strong>Kim Williams<\/strong> (4:18.67). Another freshman,\u00a0<strong>Leah Stevens\u00a0<\/strong>rounded out the podium with a 4:20.14.<\/p>\n<p>Stanford junior\u00a0<strong>Tara Halsted<\/strong> won the 200 fly by five seconds (2:00.17), while Arizona State&#8217;s Simonovic touched second (2:05.06). Stanford&#8217;s Hu took the 100 free (50.22) and Howe took another individual event with her victory in the 200 back (1:57.25). Eastin joined the multi-event winner club with a second victory in the 500 free (4:48.92), the only sub-5 minute time of the field. Poppe took the 200 breast (2:15.61), while Stanford&#8217;s sophomore diver\u00a0<strong>Gracie Leydon-Mahoney<\/strong> took the 3-meter board and Arizona State&#8217;s sophomore\u00a0<strong>Mara Aiacoboae<\/strong> took the 1-meter. A final Stanford victory in the 400 free relay was taken by a team of\u00a0<strong>Alex Meyers,<\/strong> Engel,\u00a0<strong>Nicole Stafford,<\/strong> and Ama with a time of 3:22.64.<\/p>\n<p>The final score was 176-63.<\/p>\n<p>Both Pac-12 teams are back in action tomorrow.
