Emory scored 178 points against Delta State&#8217;s 120 and 176 against University of West Florida&#8217;s 124. West Florida narrowly defeated Delta State 151 to 147.<\/p>\n<p>Delta State&#8217;s team of <strong>Anastasia Klyarovskaya<\/strong>, <strong>Kirsten Stroven<\/strong>, <strong>Kierstin Page<\/strong>, and <strong>Chloe Bennett\u00a0<\/strong>outtouched Emory in\u00a0the 200 medley relay\u00a0with a time of 1:45.69. The team&#8217;s momentum continued as <strong>Melanie Tombers<\/strong> claimed the 1000 (10:17.13) by a full ten seconds. The junior also claimed the last event of the day, stopping the clock at 4:32.27 in the 400 IM.<\/p>\n<p>Emory found their way to the top taking the top two spots in the 200 freestyle. <strong>Cindy Chen<\/strong> lead the way with a B cut time of 1:52.61. Delta State fired back as Klyarovskaya touched first in the 100 backstroke (56.55). The junior went on to win the 200 backstroke as well\u00a0(2:01.63).<\/p>\n<p>West Florida got their first win of the afternoon when <strong>Theresa Michalak<\/strong> stopped the clock at 1:04.77 in the 100 breaststroke. Her teammate <strong>Paulina Szydlo<\/strong> topped the 200 breaststroke (2:20.99).<\/p>\n<p>Emory&#8217;s <strong>Phoebe Edwards<\/strong> claimed the 200 butterfly, racing to\u00a0a time of 2:09.57. Her teammate <strong>Julia Wawer<\/strong> won the 500 freestyle\u00a0by nearly seven seconds, clocking a 5:05.69.<\/p>\n<p>West Florida&#8217;s <strong>Peggy de Villiers<\/strong> sprinted to a win in the 50 freestlye (24.10) while Delta State&#8217;s Bennett was first in the 100 (52.80). de Villiers\u00a0also went on to win the 100 butterfly (57.73).<\/p>\n<p>West Florida swept the both boards, lead by <strong>Monica Amaral<\/strong> with 303.05 points on three meter and 283.20 on one meter.<\/p>\n<p>The Emory women finished the afternoon with a win as the team of <strong>Meg Taylor<\/strong>, <strong>Fiona Muir<\/strong>, <strong>Hannah Baratz<\/strong>, and <strong>Marissa Bergh<\/strong> swam\u00a0a 1:36.66 in the 200 freestyle relay.<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s Meet:<\/h2>\n<p>The Emory men\u00a0narrowly fell\u00a0to their Division two competitors, Delta State\u00a0by a score of 157-137.<\/p>\n<p>Delta State&#8217;s team of <strong>Cody Lavoie<\/strong>, <strong>Matteo Fraschi<\/strong>, <strong>Max Pendall<\/strong>, and<strong> Mattia Schirru<\/strong> clocked a 1:32.59 in the 200 medley relay.<\/p>\n<p>Emory&#8217;s <strong>Henry Copses<\/strong> won the 1000 freestyle by\u00a0less than\u00a0a second with his time of 9:41.06. His teammate <strong>Christian Baker<\/strong> claimed the 200 freestyle with his time of 1:41.36. He later claimed the 500 as well (4:36.04).\u00a0Junior <strong>Mitchell Cooper<\/strong> made it three events in a row for the Eagles, touching the wall at 50.77 in the 100 backstroke. He later won the 200 backstroke (1:52.84).<\/p>\n<p>Delta State began to\u00a0turn the momentum when Pendall raced to a 58.84 in the 100 breaststroke. Pendall also won the 200 breaststroke later in the meet (2:07.93). His teammate <strong>Adam Charlton<\/strong> then won the 200 butterfly (1:54.31), and later the 100 as well (51.75).<\/p>\n<p>Emory&#8217;s <strong>Ollie Smith<\/strong> won the 50 freestyle (20.66), but Delta State&#8217;s Schirru took the 100 (46.13).<\/p>\n<p>Delta State&#8217;s <strong>Matt Swaine<\/strong> topped the three meter board (274.15) while his teammate <strong>Bill Ashwell<\/strong> won the one meter (255.10).<\/p>\n<p>Lavoie outtouched Cooper in the 400 IM with his time of 4:05.02.
