AUSTRALIA&#39;s Kylie Palmer touched out Femke Heemskerk of the Netherlands to win the women&#39;s 200 free at the FINA World Short Course Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Palmer clocked a winning time of 1:54.41, while Heemskerk placed second in 1:54.65.  Great Britain&#39;s Caitlin McClatchey rounded out the podium in 1:55.15.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;My coach just wanted me to go out hard, saying I wouldn&#39;t medal but that I should give it everything,&quot; Palmer told meet organizers. &quot;It&#39;s the best international meet I&#39;ve been able to do, to medal in four events. Now I need to discuss my goals for the Beijing Olympics.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Heemskerk cleared the national record of Inge Dekker, which had been a 1:54.89 from December.  McClatchey, however, missed Melanie Marshall&#39;s national record of 1:54.53 set in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The win is the first for the Australians in the event, while China and Costa Rica are tied for the most wins with two.
