{"id":177913,"date":"2016-01-16T15:28:07","date_gmt":"2016-01-16T22:28:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=177913"},"modified":"2016-01-16T15:28:07","modified_gmt":"2016-01-16T22:28:07","slug":"notre-dame","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/notre-dame\/","title":{"rendered":"Ella Moynihan, Matthew Grauslys Win Twice As Notre Dame Beats Northwestern"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Chandler Brandes, ACC Beat Writer<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Notre Dame hosted Northwestern in a dual meet on January 16.\u00a0The meet was close on both sides: the Fighting Irish women won 156.5-143.5 as the men won 166-132.<\/p>\n<p>The Fighting Irish 200 medley relay team of\u00a0<strong>Catherine\u00a0Mulquin, Danielle Margheret, Cat Galletti,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Tayde Revilak\u00a0<\/strong>won in 1:42.21 as the men&#8217;s team of\u00a0<strong>Bogac Ayhan, Andrew Jensen, Matthew Grauslys,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Daniel Speers<\/strong> took first in 1:31.20. Gillette (54.69) and Revilak (55.76) later went 1-2 in the women&#8217;s 100 fly.\u00a0Notre Dame went 1-2 in the women&#8217;s 200 free, led by\u00a0<strong>Ella Moynihan\u00a0<\/strong>(1:50.74), followed closely by teammate\u00a0<strong>Kyra\u00a0<\/strong><b>Sarazen\u00a0<\/b>(1:50.76). Moynihan also won the 500 free in 4:58.57.\u00a0Notre Dame swept the women&#8217;s 100 breast, won by Margheret (1:03.76).\u00a0<strong>Sherri McIntee<\/strong>\u00a0(2:17.67) won the 200 breast as the Fighting Irish went 1-2-3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur breaststroke group is really strong; when you have 1-2-3 finishes like we did in those events, it really shuts the door on your opponents and opens up the point spread.
