{"id":177910,"date":"2016-01-16T16:16:43","date_gmt":"2016-01-16T23:16:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=177910"},"modified":"2016-01-16T16:16:43","modified_gmt":"2016-01-16T23:16:43","slug":"pitt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/pitt\/","title":{"rendered":"Meme Sharp Sets Team, Pool Record As Pitt Beats Denison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>By Chandler Brandes, ACC Beat Writer<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pitt swimming and diving hosted Denison on January 16, where the Panther men defeated the Big Red 216-84 and the Panther women won 219-81.<\/p>\n<p>The Panther women (1:45.08) and men (1:32.68) started the meet with wins in the 200 medley relay, and the Pitt women won the 200 free relay.\u00a0<strong>Kaleigh Ritter<\/strong> won both the women&#8217;s 1000 (10:08.98) and the 500 free (4:57.22) and\u00a0<strong>Aaron Sett <\/strong>won the men&#8217;s 1000\u00a0(9:29.58) as Pitt swept the event.\u00a0<strong>Amanda Richey<\/strong> won the women&#8217;s 200 free (1:51.10), 200 back (2:02.92), and led the sweep of the 200 IM in 2:06.26.\u00a0The Panthers swept both the 50 free and 100 free, led by\u00a0<strong>Emily Murphy<\/strong>\u00a0in 23.76 and 51.53.\u00a0They also went 1-2-3 in\u00a0the men&#8217;s 100 fly, led by\u00a0<strong>Bryce Kampfe<\/strong>\u00a0(50.99).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matt Tankle<\/strong>\u00a0won the men&#8217;s 100 back (50.77) and 200 back (1:50.36),\u00a0<strong>Kinga Cichowska\u00a0<\/strong>won the women&#8217;s\u00a0100 breast (1:03.50) and 200 breast (2:18.03), and\u00a0<strong>David Sweeney\u00a0<\/strong>won the 50 free (20.66) and 100 free (45.30). Other Pitt event winners included\u00a0<strong>Brian Lovasik <\/strong>in the men&#8217;s 200 free\u00a0(1:40.59),\u00a0<strong>Blair Wegescheide<\/strong>\u00a0in the women&#8217;s 100 back (58.00),\u00a0<strong>Alex Cook<\/strong>\u00a0in the men&#8217;s 200 breast (2:05.03),\u00a0<strong>Mack Rice<\/strong>\u00a0in the men&#8217;s 200 fly (1:49.68),\u00a0<strong>Zachary Lierley<\/strong>\u00a0in the men&#8217;s 200\u00a0IM\u00a0(1:52.43),\u00a0<strong>Spencer Gray<\/strong>\u00a0in the men&#8217;s 500 free (4:34.72), and\u00a0<strong>Athena Summa <\/strong>in the women&#8217;s 100 fly (57.42).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dominic Giodano<\/strong> won both the men&#8217;s 1m (395.40) and the 3m (396.15) while teammate\u00a0<strong>Tony Galante<\/strong> placed second in the 1m (323.70) and 3m (371.78).\u00a0One of the most exciting events of the meet was the women&#8217;s 1m, where Pitt diver\u00a0<strong>Meme Sharp<\/strong>\u00a0won in record-setting fashion: her score of 327.08 shattered both the team and pool record.
