With exactly\u00a0one month out from the start of the women’s ACC Championships, eight teams competed this past weekend.<\/p>\n

Top 5 Takeaways:<\/h1>\n

1. Hokie Men Improve to 11-0<\/strong>
\nThe Virginia Tech men defeated Virginia for the third straight year in dual meet action.\u00a0The No. 46 ranked Hokies beat the No. 15 Cavaliers 212.5-104.5,\u00a0improving to 11-0 this season. With just over a month from the start of the men’s ACC Championships, the Hokie men will look to improve upon their 3rd place finish last year.<\/p>\n

2. Virginia Relays on Fire
\n<\/strong>The Virginia women dominated the relays in their dual meet against Virginia Tech and Towson. They won the 200 free\u00a0relay, the 200 medley relay, and the\u00a0400 free relay by over three seconds, and\u00a0the\u00a0400 medley relay by four seconds. The Cavaliers lead the NCAA with top times in the 200 medley relay, the 200 free relay, and the 400 medley relay, and will be top contenders at ACCs and NCAAs in those events.<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong>\u00a0Notre Dame Breaststroke Sweep<\/strong>
\nIn their meet against Northwestern, the Fighting Irish women swept both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes.\u00a0Danielle Margheret\u00a0<\/strong>leads Notre Dame with top times in both events, followed closely by teammates\u00a0Sherri McIntee\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Alyssa Storino<\/strong>. Even with the graduation of\u00a0Emma Reaney,<\/strong>\u00a0the Irish will still look to make a statement in the breaststroke events.<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong>\u00a0Pitt Divers Continue Dominance<\/strong>
\nPitt diver\u00a0Meme Sharp<\/strong> set a new team and pool record in the 1m diving event against Denison with a score of 327.08 and placed second behind\u00a0teammate\u00a0Sam Winklemann<\/strong> in the 3m. On the men’s side,\u00a0Dominic Giordano\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Tony Galante<\/strong> went 1-2 in both the 1m and 3m. If the Panther divers continue their dual meet success into championship season, they will be sure to pose a threat at ACCs and NCAAs.<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong>\u00a0Winning Weekend for Boston College<\/strong>
\nBoston College men’s team had a busy weekend, beating Tufts on Thursday and Marist on Saturday. Freshman\u00a0Taylor Cortens<\/strong> won two events at each meet, as did\u00a0Dan Kelly\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0McKenzie Cole<\/strong>. The Eagles’ strong sprint relays will look to make a statement at their next few dual meets leading into championship season.<\/p>\n
