The No. 4 USC women handed the No. 16 Badgers a 174.5-124.5 defeat while the No. 17 USC men upset the No. 15 Wisconsin men in a 186-113 result. An overwhelming number of victors from Troy were freshmen and sophomores, but a handful of battle-tested veterans stepped in to seal the deal. This win marks five wins in the last five years for the Trojan women over the Badgers and four of five for the Trojan men.<\/p>\n<h2>Women&#8217;s Meet:<\/h2>\n<p>The Trojan women started off strong with a win in the 200 medley relay. A team of\u00a0<strong>Hannah Weiss, Riley Scott, Kendyl Stewart,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Anika Apostalon<\/strong> touched first with a time of 1:40.30 to get the momentum going. Weiss, a sophomore, later went on to sweep the backstroke events, going a 53.86 in the 100 and a 1:56.14 in the 200. Scott, a freshman, followed suit and took both of the breaststroke events, clocking in at 1:02.14 in the 100 and a 2:1280 in the 200.<\/p>\n<p>Junior\u00a0<strong>Chelsea Chenault<\/strong> joined the party with her win in the 200 free (1:49.43), as did Stewart, who took the 100 fly (53.85) and logged an NCAA B cut in the process. Freshmen\u00a0<strong>Destiny Nelson<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Madison Witt<\/strong> each took home an individual win, as well. Nelson won the 400 IM (4:18.93), while Witt topped the 3-meter springboard competition with a total score of 311.18.<\/p>\n<h2>Men&#8217;s Meet:<\/h2>\n<p>The Trojan men were just as successful against the Badgers as the women were and started in the same fashion with a win in the 200 medley relay. A team of\u00a0<strong>Ralf Tribunstov, Morten Klarskov, Michael Domagala,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>David Morgan Jr.\u00a0<\/strong>won with a time of 1:28.88. Sophomore Tribunstov later won the 50 by one one hundredth of second, touching the wall at 20.55. Klarskov, a senior, took the 100 free (44.97), and junior Domagala won the 200 fly with a time of 1:48.50.<\/p>\n<p>Three Trojan freshmen made waves in their debut&#8211;<strong>Carsten Vissering\u00a0<\/strong>won the 100 breast and logged an NCAA B cut with his 54.75, while\u00a0<strong>Patrick Mulcare<\/strong> was just off a B cut in his 400 IM, which he won with a 3:54.68.\u00a0<strong>Alex Valente\u00a0<\/strong>took the 100 fly (48.98), while\u00a0<strong>Tim Wynter\u00a0<\/strong>was second in the 100 back (49.21) and third in the 200 back (1:48.49).<\/p>\n<p>Additional winners included junior\u00a0<strong>Reed Malone<\/strong> in the 200 free (1:37.67) and\u00a0<strong>Steven Stumph\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 breast (2:00.05).<\/p>\n<p>The Trojans are back to business when the divers head to the Bruins Diving Invitational this Friday, while the swimmers get ready to host Cal (W: Jan. 29\/M: Feb. 5) and Stanford (W: Jan. 30\/M: Feb. 6).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/results\/2016-usc-v-wisconsin-dual-meet\/ncaa-college\/2016\/January\/12\" target=\"_blank\">2016 USC v Wisconsin Dual Meet &#8211; Results<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sarah Lloyd, Swimming World College Intern The USC Trojans came away with two wins on Tuesday against the Wisconsin Badgers.
