Several teams from the Big 12, including powerhouse Texas, raced this weekend, but results were mixed.<\/p>\n

Top 5 Takeaways:<\/h2>\n

  1. The Texas men are good. Like, really good. From a sweep in the 1000 free by\u00a0Clark Smith, Jonathan Robert,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Sam Lewis<\/strong>, to a sweep on both boards by\u00a0divers\u00a0Cory Bowersox, Mark Anderson,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Sean O\u2019Brien<\/strong>, as well as a number of 1-2 finishes against No. 3 Georgia, there is really no question that Texas is No. 1 in the rankings.<\/li>\n
  2. The Texas women definitely deserve to be in the top 10 rankings. Despite losing to the No. 2 Georgia women, the No. 6 Longhorns showed determination and grit in the 10-point loss. They can put together solid relays and have some deadly sprinters in the 100s of stroke.<\/li>\n
  3. The West Virginia men had a great meet against Pitt and it seems likely that they can continue this momentum into next week’s conference matchup against TCU.<\/li>\n
  4. The Mountaineer women post consistent results, but that may not be enough to win against conference opponent TCU. Then again, they may be exhausted after a winter training camp.<\/li>\n
  5. The Kansas women get better with each meet. While the results from their two tri-meets were less than desirable, there was improvement within the short 20 hour time frame. Exhausted from their training camp as they may have been, they definitely found the swing of racing in the second meet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
