This past weekend, eight teams competed for the first time in 2016.<\/p>\n<h2>5 Top Takeaways From Southeastern Conference Weekend<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Georgia women are really, really good. The Bulldogs knocked off two of the top teams in the nation on back to back days. On Friday they beat No. 5 Texas A&amp;M and on Saturday they took down No. 6 Texas. Though they are currently ranked second, Georgia has the potential to make a run at the NCAA title.<\/li>\n<li>When a meet comes down to the 400-yard freestyle relay, it\u2019s good to have <b>Kristian Gkolomeev <\/b> on your team. In the men\u2019s meet between Alabama and Tennessee, the Volunteers held a slim lead going into the final relay. Gkolomeev, the defending NCAA champion in the 100-yard freestyle, made sure the lead did not last. He helped Alabama finish first in the relay, giving the Crimson Tide a meet win<\/li>\n<li>At this point, SEC men\u2019s teams are not on the same level as Texas. The No. 1 Longhorns knocked of No. 8 Auburn on Thursday by a score of 156-136. Then, two days later, Texas defeated No. 3 Georgia 170-125. Though there is still a lot of time before NCAA Championships, a SEC team will have a hard time beating the Big XII power.<\/li>\n<li>The No. 24 Louisiana State women showed very well at a tri-meet in Kentucky. The Tigers knocked off No. 23 Kentucky and Virginia Tech. They will have another test this coming week against No. 19 Missouri.<\/li>\n<li>South Carolina may drop in the CSCAA men\u2019s rankings. After a close loss to No. 22 Duke, the No. 19 Gamecocks will most likely fall\u00a0out of the top 20.
