Maggie Belbot<\/strong> of North Baltimore delivered stunning performances during the afternoon session of day two of the 2016 CeraVe Invitational. Bellbot, 10, kicked off the session with a sizzling 31.33 in the 10 & Under girls 50-meter fly downing the previous meet record of 33.05 (set by Beth<\/strong> Botsford<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Belbot’s record-breaking streak continued into the 200-meter IM where she dashed to a final time of 2:35.37, finishing almost twelve seconds ahead of the competition. Her time replaced the 2013 meet record of 2:42.33 set by\u00a0Danning Hu.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The streak continued into Belbot’s final race of the morning, the 200-meter free. The young star from North Baltimore posted a final time of 2:18.85 again lowering the meet record which had stood for 10+ years.<\/p>\n

Maggie Aroesty<\/strong> of LIAC cruised to a win in the women’s open 400-meter IM stopping the clock at 4:48.63, earning herself an Olympic Trials cut. Finishing second in the event was\u00a0teammate\u00a0Kristen Romano<\/strong> posting a final time of 4:53.61, also earning an OT cut.<\/p>\n

Bluefish’s\u00a0Max Miranda<\/strong> continued his winning streak during day two with a final time of 4:30.36 in the men’s open 400-meter IM.\u00a0Chris Balbo<\/strong> finished second overall with a time of 4:33.05, while third was claimed by NBAC’s\u00a0Billy Cadigan<\/strong> (4:34.64).<\/p>\n

Claire Walsh<\/strong> of SSC dashed to a strong finish in the women’s open 50-meter free turning in a final time of 26.72 to be the only athlete under the 27-second mark.<\/p>\n

GAAC’s\u00a0Ryan Torie<\/strong> claimed the win in the men’s open 50-meter free with a final time of 24.00. NBAC’s\u00a0Coleman Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>touched second with a time of 24.58, while third went to Bluefish’s\u00a0Noah Moniz<\/strong> and his time of 24.84.<\/p>\n

The top two finishers in the women’s open 100-meter back earned OT cuts, both finishing under 1:03.\u00a0Erin Voss\u00a0<\/strong>of Vikings posted a final time of 1:02.58 to claim the gold, while SSC’s\u00a0Alex Sumner<\/strong> finished close behind with a time of 1:02.95.<\/p>\n

David Crossland\u00a0<\/strong>of DST grabbed the gold in the men’s open 100-meter back with a time of 57.84. Stewart joined him under the one-minute mark with a final time of 58.07 for second. Both earned themselves long course junior national cuts in the event.<\/p>\n

The women’s 400-meter free was a close race with the top two finishers stopping the clock a slim .15 seconds apart.\u00a0Anina Lund<\/strong> of Badger got her hand on the wall first at the 4:20.36 mark. Aroesty finished second with a time of 4:20.51.<\/p>\n

Miranda claimed his final win of the night in the men’s 400-meter free qualifying for junior nationals with a time of 4:01.64. Badger’s\u00a0Spencer Lafata\u00a0<\/strong>finished second overall with a time of 4:04.95, while\u00a0Jack McIntyre<\/strong> of EEX was third with a 4:05.10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
