Their number two male teammates beat the number fourteen Tigers as well.<\/p>\n<h2>Women&#8217;s Meet:<\/h2>\n<p>The Denison women were lead by senior\u00a0<strong>Marissa Bednarek<\/strong> who posted three individual victories\u00a0and a relay win. The Big Red women got off to a quick start, taking the top two places in the 200 medley relay. The team of\u00a0<strong>Carolyn Kane<\/strong>, Bednarek,\u00a0<strong>Ashley Yearwood<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Mary Van Leuven\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in 1:45.03, just under the NCAA B cut.<\/p>\n<p>Bednarek also earned individual B cuts in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes. She lead a Denison sweep of the 100 breaststroke, finishing in a time of 1:04.63. She was followed by teammates\u00a0<strong>Marisa Pulaski\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Ellen Higdon\u00a0<\/strong>(1:07.09 and 1:08.61). In the 200, Bednarek stopped the clock at 2:20.04 while Pulaski finished in 2:24.02 and Higdon in 2:29.01.<\/p>\n<p>Bednarek also posted the top time of 2:09.53 in the 200 IM, though the Big Red swam the event exhibition. Depauw&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Emily Ward\u00a0<\/strong>officially won in a time of 2:23.88 while\u00a0<strong>Jackie Gillum\u00a0<\/strong>was second in 2:29.98.<\/p>\n<p>Kane was another double winner for the Big Red women as he won the 200 freestyle in a B cut time of 1:52.93. Teammate\u00a0<strong>Kate Wright\u00a0<\/strong>was nearly four seconds back in a 1:56.80 while DePauw swimmer\u00a0<strong>Kirsten Olson\u00a0<\/strong>finished third in 2:00.17.<\/p>\n<p>In the 100 butterfly, Kane stopped the clock at 57.13. Her teammate,\u00a0<strong>Krysta Garbarino\u00a0<\/strong>was third in a 1:01.75. DePauw&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Mary Woods\u00a0<\/strong>finished second in 1:00.73.<\/p>\n<p>Van Leuven won both freestyle sprint events, claiming the 50 in a B cut time of 23.79. Teammate\u00a0<strong>Erin Hudson\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 25.10. DePauw senior\u00a0<strong>Caroline Bridges\u00a0<\/strong>was second in a 24.59.<\/p>\n<p>In the 100, Van Leuven\u00a0lead a Denison sweep. The senior raced to a time of 52.14 while classmates Yearwood and Wright finished in 52.72 and 53.60 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>The Big Red women recorded another sweep in the 100 backstroke. Yearwood lead the way in a 58.19 while Kane was second in a 59.85.\u00a0<strong>Elizabeth Dalziel<\/strong> finished third in a 1:02.10.<\/p>\n<p>Denison swimmer\u00a0<strong>Halli Garza\u00a0<\/strong>was dominant in the 200 butterfly, stopping the clock at 2:03.69. Her teammate\u00a0<strong>Emily Eiben\u00a0<\/strong>was third with a 2:12.38. Depauw junior\u00a0<strong>Angela Newlon\u00a0<\/strong>was second in a 2:11.57.<\/p>\n<p>Newlon was again second in the 500 freestyle recording a time of 5:04.67.\u00a0<strong>Campbell Costley\u00a0<\/strong>won the event with her time of 5:03.11 and teammate\u00a0<strong>Taylor Johns\u00a0<\/strong>was third in a 5:08.28.<\/p>\n<p>The DePauw women posted two individual event wins of the day. Newlon posted an impressive 17:02.38 to win the 1650. Costley was second in 17:16.84. Johns was third in a 17:25.76. All three swimmers recorded NCAA B cuts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kirsten Olson\u00a0<\/strong>stopped the clock in a time of 2:09.45 to win the 200 backstroke. Dalziel was second in 2:12.49 and\u00a0<strong>Alex Elizeus\u00a0<\/strong>was third in 2:13.87.<\/p>\n<p>The DePauw team of Bridges, Olson, Woods, and Newlon were the official winners of the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 3:38.58.<\/p>\n<p>The Denison women swept the 1 meter board, with scores of 402.23, 363.53, and 350.33 from\u00a0<strong>Emma Weber<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Eva Vivero<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Katherine Hennigan<\/strong>. The team of\u00a0<strong>Carson Clear<\/strong>, Howley,\u00a0<strong>Andrew Rich<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Ryan Fleming<\/strong> swam a time of 1:34.06. DePauw&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Eli Anderson, Mitchell Davis<\/strong>, Lehmann, and\u00a0<strong>Brandon Sholtis\u00a0<\/strong>raced to a 1:34.99.<\/p>\n<p>Howley won both breaststroke events, finishing the 100 in a time of 57.87. DePauw&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Sam McManus\u00a0<\/strong>was also under a minute in a time of 59.44. His teammate Davis finished third (1:00.66). In the 200, Howley swam a 2:11.42. McManus was again second in a 2:12.31. Denison freshman\u00a0<strong>Ryan Stevenson\u00a0<\/strong>finished third with his time of 2:13.21.<\/p>\n<p>Howes won the 100 and 200 freestyles in times of 46.88 and 1:43.38. In the 100 freestyle, he lead a Denison sweep followed by teammates\u00a0Fleming\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Jason Wesseling\u00a0<\/strong>(47.19 and 47.92). In the 200, DePauw swimmers\u00a0<strong>Alex Grissom\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Kurt Swieter\u00a0<\/strong>were just behind touching in times of 1:43.57 and 1:44.63.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Lindell completed the backstroke double. The Big Red swimmer dominated the 200, touching in a time of 1:53.08. Teammates\u00a0<strong>Conner Downard\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Nathan Thorne\u00a0<\/strong>finished in 1:58.40 and 2:00.55. In the 100, Lindell finished in a 52.22, just ahead of teammate Wessleing (52.44). DePauw&#8217;s Anderson was third (54.15).<\/p>\n<p>Other Denison winners were\u00a0<strong>Aaron Saccurato<\/strong> in the 1650 and <strong>Blake Kent\u00a0<\/strong>in the 200 butterfly. Saccurato finished in a 16:37.69 ahead of teammates\u00a0<strong>Matthew Hedman\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Ben Burdick\u00a0<\/strong>(16:47.74 and 16:55.05).<\/p>\n<p>The Big Red swept the 200 butterfly. Kent raced to a time of 1:57.20, just ahead of\u00a0<strong>Mitch Williams<\/strong> (1:57.32).\u00a0<strong>Brandt Swanson\u00a0<\/strong>touched third in a 1:59.49.<\/p>\n<p>Denison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Stuart Hohm\u00a0<\/strong>won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:45.76, just ahead of DePauw&#8217;s Grisson and Swieter (4:48.16 and 4:51.15).<\/p>\n<p>DePauw&#8217;s Lehmann won the 50 freestyle with a 21.00. Denison&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Conrad Wuorinen\u00a0<\/strong>and Fleming were second and third (21.52 and 21.55).<\/p>\n<p>Lehmann also claimed the 100 butterfly ahead of Denison&#8217;s Rich and\u00a0<strong>Kevin Brinegar.<\/strong> The three posted times of 50.12, 52.31 and 52.34.<\/p>\n<p>After Dension exhibitioned, DePauw swept the 200 IM.\u00a0<strong>Zach Johns<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Mitchell Davis<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>Matt Gullickson\u00a0<\/strong>swam times of 2:05.18, 2:06.40, and 2:06.42.<\/p>\n<p>The DePauw team of Grisson, Swieter, Sholtis, and Lehmann claimed the exhibition win in the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 3:10.33.<\/p>\n<p>Denison swept both boards.\u00a0<strong>Max Levy\u00a0<\/strong>claimed the 3 meter with a score of 543.38. He was second on the 1 meter with 454.95 points.\u00a0<strong>Ben Lewis\u00a0<\/strong>won the 1 meter with 508.35 while\u00a0<strong>Brian Allen\u00a0<\/strong>was third with 445.95.
