ORLANDO, Florida, March 22. THE National Club Swimming Association (NCSA) Junior National Championships put to bed the fifth night of swimming in Orlando.<\/p>\n
Girls<\/b>
\nRachel Bootsma of Aquajets Swimming walked away with the 50 back title in 29.09, while Breanna Folk of Parkland Aquatics won the 200 IM in 2:18.59. In the 200-meter IM, Missy Franklin, 12, of the Colorado Stars finished second in 2:19.12 to down the U.S. National Age Group record of 2:20.41 set by Carly Geehr in 1997. In preliminary competition, Franklin dropped her U.S. National Age Group record in the 200-yard IM from the 2:04.50 three weeks ago when she hit the wall fifth in the morning in 2:03.81.<\/p>\n
Franklin also erased Lia Neal's 11-12 U.S. National Age Group record in the 50-meter free of 26.53 from last year when she placed sixth in 26.21 in the event.<\/p>\n
Liv Jensen snatched the 50 free title in 25.62, while Emily Kelly of Long Island Aquatics won another title with an 8:48.23 in the 800 free.<\/p>\n
The Curl-Burke team of Suzanne Schwee, Ellyn Baumgardner, Mandy Vincent and Molly Emery won the 400 medley in 4:17.43.<\/p>\n
Boys<\/b>
\nRicky Henahan of Fairport Area Swimming captured the 50 back in 26.31, while Ben Hinshaw snared the 200 IM title in 2:07.16.<\/p>\n
Michael Arnold of Chattahoochee Gold touched out Eric Bruck of Lexington Dolphins, 23.28 to 23.39, for the 50 free title, while Michael McBroom of The Woodlands walked away with the 1500 free title in 15:43.87.<\/p>\n
Rockville-Montgomery's quartet of Brady Fox, Eric Friedland, Sean Stewart and Mark Meyer won the 400 medley relay in 3:52.10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
