The ninth ranked Wolverine women beat four other teams, racking up 265 points. The sixth ranked Michigan men beat three teams, finishing with 231 points. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The teams competed in a short course meters pool on Jan. 3. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Michigan got off to a hot start, winning the women\u2019s 200-meter medley relay in 1:54.99. The team consisted of <\/span><b>Clara Smiddy, Emily Kopas, Zoe Mattingly <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and <\/span><b>Maddy Frost. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Air Force won the men\u2019s event. The team of <\/span><b>Devon Davis, Michael Barnosky, Steffen Mount <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and <\/span><b>Jordan Dahle <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">posted a time of 1:40.48. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Michigan\u2019s <\/span><b>Ryan Gillian <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">set a meet record in the third event of the day: the women\u2019s 400-meter freestyle. The 20-year-old posted a time of 4:15.21, winning by over three seconds. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>After helping Michigan to a win in the 200-meter medley relay, Smiddy set a meet record in the women\u2019s 100-meter backstroke. She posted a time of 1:01.12.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meet records fell in both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s 50-meter breaststroke. Michigan\u2019s <\/span><b>Emily Kopas <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">set the women\u2019s record with a time of 32.04. On the men\u2019s side, <\/span><b>Michael Barnosky <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of Air Force touched in 27.97.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Ali Deloof <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">took the women\u2019s 50-meter backstroke title for the Wolverines, touching in a meet record time of 28.32. Michigan\u2019s <\/span><b>Paul Powers <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">set the men\u2019s 50-meter freestyle record with a time of 22.19.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the women\u2019s 200-meter individual medley, Michigan\u2019s <\/span><b>Siobhan Haughey <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">set a meet record, winning the race in 2:14.64.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The meet ended with the 200-meter freestyle relay. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Michigan won the women\u2019s race with a meet record time of 1:44.16. The team consisted of Frost, <\/span><b>Catie Deloof, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Haughey and Ali Deloof. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Wolverines also won on the men\u2019s side.
