THE Arizona Wildcats were denied last year, but they have their sights on a national title, as shown with an astonishingly fast time of 1:26.90 to open the NCAA Division I Championships with an American and NCAA record in the 200 free relay.<\/p>\n<p>The foursome of Lara Jackson, Lacey Nymeyer, Anna Turner and Taylor Baughman dropped the hammer to eclipse the previous American and NCAA record of 1:27.23 set by Arizona last year with the quartet of Jackson, Nymeyer, Turner and Lindsey Kelly posting the time.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona recorded splits of 21.91, 43.38 and 1:05.21 along the way.  The 21.92 leadoff from Jackson finished just shy of her career-best time of 21.73 set last year.<\/p>\n<p>The win not only pushed them into the initial lead with 40 points, it gave the Wildcats their sixth 200 free relay all time, second most in history.  Texas owns the record with nine overall, while Georgia is third with five. <\/p>\n<p>California&#39;s squad of Madison Kennedy, Hannah Wilson, Emily Silver and Dana Vollmer touched second in 1:27.52, while Auburn&#39;s team of Ava Ohlgren, Kara Denby, Emily Kukors and Emile Ewing finished third in 1:28.79.<\/p>\n<p><a href=http:\/\/65.110.72.225\/SPIPDF\/03202008wncaadiw200fr.pdf target=_blank>Click here for event results.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 20.
