KATE Ziegler and Matt Benecki of The Fish swept the distance freestyle events on the first night of swimming at the USA Swimming Sectionals held in College Park.<\/p>\n<p>Ziegler, mostly swimming by herself, cruised to victory in the women&#39;s 1500 free with a time of 16:13.54.  She finished well ahead of Lindsay Vrooman, 16, of Pine Richland Aquatics as Vrooman took second in 17:04.03.<\/p>\n<p>Benecki posted a convincing triumph of his own in the men&#39;s 800 free when he hit the wall in 8:22.50.  James Fee of Bluefish provided his closest competition with a time of 8:28.91 for second.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>COLLEGE PARK, Maryland, March 13.
